Bruised and bloody, there sat Damon.

Angry and bloody, there sat Anthony.

There was one huge difference.

Most of the blood on Anthony's knuckles wasn't his.

We ended up at the infirmary in their house after getting a good look at Damon's face. Nina was pacing back and forth while glaring at both of them, especially Anthony. Yet, he didn't seem to notice and he kept glaring at Damon, who looked a bit scared.

Penelope was cleaning the blood off Damon's face. Dylan and Ethan sat on stools talking about who knows what. Keith sat on a stool next to me, breathing heavily after breaking up the fight.

I wouldn't really call it a fight since all Damon did was block Anthony's punches. I wonder what would happen if Damon did fight back. I shuddered at the thought of that and got a weird look from Keith. Anyway, I looked back at Anthony and immediately frowned. I felt a wave of irritation because instead of helping her brother, Nina was pacing back and forth. I mean, he did have a good reason to punch Damon.

I sighed and stood up, which made everyone look at me. I washed my hands by the tiny sink at the side. I ignored their looks and went to the cabinet that I saw Penelope previously go to. I took out gauze, ointment, cotton pads, and alcohol. I took my stool over to the bed that Anthony was sitting on and grabbed his hand.

"You don't have to-"

One glare from me shut him up. I felt so powerful in that moment.

I started off with putting some alcohol on the cotton pad. I dabbed it over the blood and cuts on his knuckles, which resulted in him gritting his teeth only loud enough for me to hear. After that, I put the ointment on his knuckles to prevent infection and keep the wound clean. I wrapped the gauze around his hand so his cuts wouldn't reopen.

"Thank you," he muttered.

"No problem, it's the least I could do after you defended me against certain insensitive people. I couldn't help but notice some people were conversing and others were pacing back and forth for no reason." Okay, maybe it came out a bit too harsh.

His eyes softened and he squeezed my hand lightly with his injured hand. I looked down and noticed how small my hand was compared to his.

Nina cleared her throat, "I'm sorry, I just don't want any feuds between the members." She looked ashamed.

"How'd you know to treat his wound like that," Penelope asked.

"Well, Keith over here always got into fights."

"I won each and every one of them!" He exclaimed proudly.

I narrowed my eyes at him, "You have the nerve to look proud?"

He was about to speak up again, but a cellphone started ringing. Anthony fished his phone out of his back pocket. He stared at the screen for a second and narrowed his eyes, he picked up the call and put it on speaker.

"Garcia speaking," he said with a cold tone that almost gave me shivers.

"We're coming for that pretty little girl. Watch your back or something might happen to you." Then, the line cut.

The voice sounded insanely deep. It was like some sort of voice changer, like that person didn't want to be figured out.

Damon chuckled dryly, "The hunt has just begun."

I paled and my mouth went dry, it suddenly felt like I hadn't drank water in days. I looked around at everyone and they all looked different. All trace of emotion from them was gone, even Keith, and they seemed ready for whatever decision Anthony was going to make.

I looked up to see Anthony and he looked to be in thought. However, that didn't stop me from seeing his clenched jaw and furrowed eyebrows. What scared me the most was the anger in his eyes.

I was so deep into thought that I didn't notice Keith gone and the door had slammed shut. Anthony stood up, and he shut the door as he walked out. As soon as the door had slammed shut, everyone stood up and put their ear against the door, including me. I couldn't hear much, but I could faintly make out their voices.

It was silent for a moment and I would've thought they had left if I didn't hear Keith's footsteps going back and forth. Suddenly, they stopped and he spoke up, "I want to join. My wounds are better and I need to protect my little sister."

Anthony snorted, "Yeah, just like you did when you stole my money and she got kidnapped."

"That's different, and I was in debt. I didn't steal anything, I would've paid you back someday."

"Someday is when I'm in my fucking casket," he sighed. "Fine, I still keep her though and she will stay in the gang."

I pushed everyone out of the way and opened the door so hard it hit the wall with a loud bang.

"No!"
