Chapter 1 - Adam.

[Also I don't often put things in my books besides the actual stuff in the book. I only put other things besides the book whenever I do warnings or want to tell y'all something. So the pictures at the top of each chapter are pictures that I have took myself. I just wanted to tell you all that anyways enjoy the story and sorry if it's kind of crap I'm not the best writer 😅]

When I wake up I immediately get up and go to the bathroom and take a bath. I get out and then put on a t-shirt and some blue jean shorts. It's the Summer so it's hot and today we should be going back to the quarry to hang out so I put on my bathing suit under my clothes.

I knew that before we would go to the quarry we would go over to Adams house so I looked at my phone for the time and realized it was 9:30 a.m.

I thought that most likely Max and Kelsey won't be up but I'm not sure about the others. I texted out group chat we all had to see who would answer to see who is up.

Maxwell:
Ughhh I am now

tf are you up Max?

Maxwell:
The one time I'm responsible

(Noah) Tyler:
Guys I'm trying to sleep 😴

Kelsey Bear:
Me too
                                                         Eliza Hamilton:
                                                       Well I'm sorry to
                                                       Disturb y'all, but
                                                   What about Adam?
Kelsey Bear:
Oh yeah. Guys we have
To go see him today.

Alex(ander):
Yeah right right!
We need to.

(Noah) Tyler:
Okay let me get ready

Kelsey Bear:
Me too

                                                         Eliza Hamilton:
                                                       Okay let meet at
                                                       Adams.

I put my light brown hair into a bun and got my phone, phone charger, money, hand sanitizer, sunglasses, ponytail, towel, and extra clothes and put them in one of my backpacks. I put on my back pack and went downstairs.

When I got downstairs I walking into the dining and saw my dad sitting at the table, reading the news paper. Who reads news papers anymore, clearly my dad. I make my way into the kitchen and then I go into my mom and dads room to find my mom.

I see my mom in the room folding clothes on the bed. "Oh good morning honey" she says with a smile. "Morning mom" I say walking over to her and hugging her. She kisses my forehead and then continues folding clothes. "You going somewhere?" She asks while look at my back pack and the way I'm dressed.

"Well I was wondering if I could-" "go over to check on Adam?" She cuts me off finishing what I was going to ask. "Yes" I says laughing a bit. "Of course honey but you also have to ask your father" she says. I look at her with a worried look across my face and she can tell. "It'll be alright honey just go in there and ask"
"Okay thank you I love you" i say calmly and walk out of the room "I love you too" she says while I walk out.

I walk into the dining room and stop beside my dad. "Do you need to ask me something?" He asks before I even say anything not even looking up from the newspaper. "Uh-yes actually" I say hesitantly. "What is it?" He sharply.

"Well I was wondering if I could go over to Adams with my friends to check on him since he got a checkup yesterday at the doctor" I say quickly while fiddling with my fingers.

He grabs my arm quickly and locks me in the eyes. I didn't make a noise since I've had this happen so many times. It made me jump but that was all it did. "Now listen here girl" he starts "you better behave if you go over there" "you know i don't like any of those friends of yours. And Adam," he scoffs "he is just a failed experiment in this world, he was created to solve overpopulation." "He's gonna die one day so I don't even know why you even try to keep him alive so much" I shudder under his words, the smell of alcohol in his breath makes me sick.

I snatch my arm out from his grasp and look at him in the eyes. "So can I?" I ask as if nothing happened to get him to leave it alone. "Fine, you can go"  "I don't give a shit"

I start making my way towards the door and walk out. "Asshole" I mutter as I close the door.

I make my way up the steps to Adam's house and see Kelsey, Max, Noah, and Alex waiting for me. "How did you guys get here before me??" I ask confused. "I don't know" Max says while moving his shoulder up and down. "Maybe you're just too slow" he says in a joking tone. "Are shut up" I say while hitting his arm slightly.

"Well since you're here now we can knock on the door." Kelsey says while knocking on the door. You can hear a man from the inside yelling "someone get the door please" and then you could hear footsteps coming closer until a woman opens the door. "Oh hello kids it's nice to see all of you again" the woman says sweetly while giving a soft smile. "Well come in come in Adam is just up in his room if you want to go see him" she says while opening the door more for us to walk in. "Thank you" we all say while walking in and going up the stairs to Adams room.

We knock on the door and then hear a "come in" from the boy in the room. We all walk in slowly and his face lights up and he sees us. He puts down his book and slowly gets up to come hug us. We tell him to lay back down but he doesn't listen to us.

"So what did the doctor say?" Noah asked. "Well they all said it was just normal right now so there's nothing to worry about right now" "and that I should just 'take it easy' and 'take all my medicine' when I already know to do that. I look and Adam and notice how pale he is and I start feeling worried like he's not telling us everything.

"Are you sure you are okay Adam?" I ask him stepping forwards towards him. "Yes" he reassures. "Well will you be able to come to the quarry with us any time soon?" Max asks from spinning in Adams chair at his desk beside his bed. We all look at Adam and just face palm "he just got back home Max, calm down. Jesus" Kelsey says bluntly.

"Probably not" Adam says sadly ignoring how we all acted when Max asked the question. "I might be able to go just not swim with y'all" he says sadly. "Well that's okay at least you won't get splashed constantly by Kelsey and Max" Alex says with a joking tone but if you didn't know him as well and we did you'd assume he's be acting rude. We all laugh a little except for Max. "Hey it's fun!" Max retorts. Which all makes us laugh again.

We all start telling Adam about what's been happening lately like the things he's missed,  not trying to show what he's missed out on but make it seem like he was a part of it too. Eventually his mom walks in and tells us that Adam needs his rest and we all understood. We all planned on going to the quarry after so that's what we did.
