The man of easy speech and a pleasant personality is seldom a good man.
Confucius
The foam was invading the edge of the sea along the entire length of the sandy coast. A pasty mass, reminding white lava, took forms, moving, malleable, to the taste of the waves' flow and reflow. In the sand, the milky mantle, wrinkled when pressed by the less vigorous waves, spread out in the direction of the sea-going along with the water retraction, was driven to conquer more dry land with the stronger surges boost. It covered everything, trembling and releasing parts of itself that were fluttering with the wind, hindering birds from pecking the humid sand and be delighted with the food offered in the abundant menu the ocean usually transports and deposits when conceding its place on the sand.
At that moment, the great liquid and salty surface were frizzy and violent, although the tide was manifested with low amplitude. In the summery season of that place, it was not normal to witness that aggressive behaviour from the sea, especially during ebb tide.
Our planet's environment seemed to be turning around.
Adding to the emergence of unknown viruses, deathly for the weakest, that quickly decimated a few living beings, a growing number of regions was suffering under the influence of unpredictable and intense climatic contrasts. Most extinct volcanoes were throwing up their entrails, never-ending winds were drying and sweeping parts of the Earth's crust, fires of gigantic proportions were consuming zones pullulating with life in a matter of days, scary storms were decimating some areas and, in this chaotic environment, countless types of flora and fauna were getting extinct, including human beings and their edifications.
A growing percentage of people feared that these disasters, currently sighted in some specific areas, were foreshadowing something more devastating and global.
For many, the belief that this was only the beginning started to emerge...
The most extraordinary thing among all this tragedy was the fact that increasingly more people were relishing an illogical joy. Although it was still only displayed in a restrict group of the world population, its infection was evident. The more the chaos asserted itself, more individuals were naturally living a bliss with happiness like no other. They were the ones that had nothing to lose, or better yet, the ones that had no attachments whatsoever, not even to their own life. They trusted in every moment and let themselves get carried by it like little children. Need and fear had abandoned their universe. They didn't feel neediness, nor discomfort. They were simply enjoying that contentment that was igniting them and elevating them to a different space, a tranquillity stratum. They continued to abide to their family, social and professional tasks and observed with lucidity the chaos that surrounded them, both in the loss of their assets and in the perishability of their bodies, yet the difference was in their permanent smile, the serenity that emanated from them and, most of all, the expression of their look. The ones who paid close attention could verify that that look reflected an absence of person and everything that comes with it, or better yet, those privileged were able to reach a state of pure freedom.
On the other hand, most of the human population didn't feel that new free way of living, fundamentally characterized by a constant state of rest inside of themselves and by being able to focus only in the present moment. In those human beings, you could see the opposite. A big percentage of them continued to follow the old patterns, those that based on the experience of their past to plan their future, imposing its control over all situations. With this attitude, the unwrap of their day-to-day life was supported by constant panic. They feared a loss in anguish and frenetically grasped to the mental solutions offered to them so as not to deprive themselves of what they were used to, however, nothing seemed to work, on the contrary, the obstacles were adding up and accumulating in a vicious cycle, or better yet, in an ironic spiral.
Just like that, confusion started a process of dismantling of ideas, of logic and of the understanding of how the world should conduct and be regulated. Mental was losing is usual power, because for him the set of structures that supported him until now were vanishing gradually into nothing.
Something, without definition, was emerging and manifesting itself in a crescendo. What was it and where was it going, no one knew. End of times? A new World Order?
Those questions didn't reign over those living in the present moment; those people didn't care about this subject, nor with any as a matter of fact, because there was no space in their joy for any kind of worry. The fear about what was going to unwind in the future shadowed those who let themselves get seduced by chaos, without realizing that it derived so much from inside as well as much from what they were observing outside. In general, human beings were keeping themselves in ignorance, not recognizing that, curiously, their inside spaces and the ones they participated in outside were getting mixed-up, getting interpenetrated and were merging into one. Everything was the same. There was no separation. What was known and normal until that moment was changing drastically, and they continued to want to hold to rotten and worn outboards, composed by the same dust their bodies were threatening to return soon and for good.
