Chapter 3

James POV:

As soon as we got to the dorm Remus and Sirius sat me down and stared at me. Peter was sitting on a chair nearby.

" What?"

" Why did you do that?!" Sirius yelled.

" Do what?"

" Prongs, lils was going to ask you out. You just ran off all of a sudden and she chickened out."

" She was going to ask me out?"

" Actually she did, I don't think James was listening. He's got someone else on his mind." Peter said calmly, eating a pack of jelly beans from Merlins knows where he got that.

" What?"

" Peter you snitch!"

" What, you have to let them know James."

" Know what?"

" I um, don't really like Lily..."

" WHAT!"

" Seriously?" Remus asked, sitting down as well.

" Yeah, you see, you know in first year when you asked who I was looking at and I said Lily?"

" Yeah?"

" It wasn't actually Lily. She just happened to be in that direction and I had to think quick so I just said that. I feel really bad for playing her like that though. I should tell her..." I said with a sigh.

" Oh Merlin..." Sirius sat down next to me and patted my back.

" I'm sure she won't hold it against you. And if she does then we are done with her." Sirius said supportingly.

" Hey but um, James?"

" Yes Moony?"

" Who do you like then?"

" Yeah about that, you might not like that..."

" Come on Prongs. It's not like it's Snape or something." Peter started to choke a bit and I just flinched and froze.

" Wait..." Remus said, his eye widening.

" YOU LIKE SNAPE!"

Yeah Remus and Sirius didn't take it that well. Sirius just hated Severus and Remus couldn't even believe that I liked him after he called Lily a mudblood. To be honest, yeah that was rude of him, but I could see he regretted it as soon as he said it and i've seen him apologize. Besides, I always had some sort of pull from him, like I just wanted to hide him from the world in my arms. I wonder why.

" Hey Prongs, sorry about those two, they'll come around soon enough." Peter said as we walked to dinner.

" Yeah I guess..." We entered the Great Hall and sat away from Sirius and Remus. I did notice Black glaring at me like I was the devil or something. Huh. Wierd. I just sat down and started to eat while talking to Peter. I could tell a lot of people where confused on why we all weren't sitting together. I didn't notice Lily sitting next to me.

" Hey James?" I turned to see Lily looking at me in question.

" Yes?"

" Why aren't you sitting with Remus and Sirius?"

" We had a disagreement. It'll blow over soon." Peter answered for me.

" I didn't ask you Peter." She said in a dead pan voice. Peter just scoffed and rolled his eyes.
