Flying 101 part 2| EP: 6

After the introductions of everyone at the club, Mr. Ronald was teaching everyone the rules of flying Pete went off to the hangar that was where Sarah was. "Hay Pete what are you doing here you're supposed to be with everyone else!" Said Sarah nervously like she was hiding something. "What is in the hangar, Sarah?" Asked Pete having an idea "oh nothing we just use it as storage!" Said Sarah trying to be calm. "I will be the judge of that!" Said, Pete, moving Sarah to the side opening up the hangar door to find a plane that was in good condition. "He didn't want to fly it because it brought him bad memories!" Said Sarah "why can't we just fly it?"
"Because you have to have a licensed pilot with you at all times!" Said Sarah hoping Pete understood. Pete wasn't happy, he wanted to do something fun for him, and flying reminded him of his dad he missed him a lot. "Pete there is still some stuff you can learn, but Pete couldn't care less he was already on his way out.

Back in the study room, everyone was going over their history homework when Jenny said: " everyone I wanted to tell you all, that Pete and I are dating!".
"Oh we know," said Jeremy "yeah, why didn't you think we knew," said Said Jacob and Leo, the flying club ended so Pete, Jacob, and Leo came back to school. "Wait, how do you guys know?"
Asked Jenny, Jeremy laughed and then said "well you guys have been doing an off-in-on kinda flirting thing, and you guys went missing that one night at the zoo and,". Jeremy paused to take a huge breath " you came back the other day with a hickey on your neck and whenever someone asks about you and Pete you get kinda strange about them" finished Jeremy "Pete told me" said Jacob. Jenny just sat down. "So guys thanksgiving is coming up what are all your plans?" asked Sarah. "You know what's annoying, is our flying instructor tells us the rules to fly yet doesn't let us use the plane he has just because he scared!" Exclaimed Pete. "Pete why are you getting mad about this, this isn't normally you!" Said Sarah. "Its, just that... Just, This is important to me," said Pete as he got up and left.

The next day Pete drove Jacob and Lee again to the flying club. When Pete got there he just sat down and went on his phone and looked at his phone either watching a video or going on social media. Mr. Ronald was going on about safety rules when Pete went over to the hangar to look at the plane again and was surprised to find that in his little workspace on the right side of the plane in the hangar he found some old pictures of him in war, with his dad. Pete didn't know that Ronald knew his dad, his dad only told him some stories but he didn't know about Ronald. "what are you doing here?" asked Mr. Ronald as he came into the hangar. "I didn't know you knew my dad!" said Pete. Mr. Ronald looked at him and back to the picture of him and his dad and realizing the similarity. "I didn't know you were Toms's son, or that he had a son," said Ronald getting a bit sad "when did you know him?" Asked Pete. "I knew him since I was your age, he was a child when I met him he played around a lot, getting himself into trouble". Ronald missed Tom a lot, almost as much as Pete. "Why are you scared to fly?" Asked Pete, Ronald for a second started to think of why even he didn't know. "My job was to protect your dad from trouble but I failed, and now I'm scared I might fail again!" Stated Ronald. "Pete now understood why he didn't want to fly and then came up with an idea.
"why not I fly?" Asked Pete "the trainees must have a listened pilot with them!"
"I am a listened pilot, I can fly the plane for you!" Exclaimed Pete. Ronald was hesitant but he called the flying club leaders to ask if he could fly and they said yes.

For Pete to become the pilot for the club he had to have one flying session with the instructor. "Seems like you are afraid of flying now huh" Ronald nodded seeming to be happy about flying. There were high up in the air, everything was going right. "So what happened to my dad?" Asked Pete wanting to know "I mean I know what happened but what exactly". Ronald remembered the day very well, it brought back bad memories. " I don't want to talk about!" Said Ronald "at least not now". After a while when they landed Ronald came back to Pete with 2 things. "Here you go Pete, you're officially the flying club captain!" Said Ronald as he handed Pete is an award. There hasn't been an award for that so he just made one up. "Also here you go thought you would like this," said Ronald handing over Pete an aviator jacket, it read on the name tag
"Mitchell"
"Are you sure you want me to have this?" Asked Pete. Ronald laughed a little" it's yours you earned it, maverick!" Said, Ronald with a smirk walking off to his desk. To Pete, this was one of his favorites classes now.
