Memories From the Past (Subaru Akehoshi)

Sorry about not updating on time! I started two requests but wasn't too happy with them, so I wrote a short one-shot no one requested, I will continue the requests don't worry. I hope Subaru wasn't too OOC and this is during the Ensemble Stars!! Era.

The bright rainbow lights were a familiar sight but it continued to warm his heart, knowing that all these people came to see him and his friends. He wanted more than anything else to make people happy and smile, especially the ones close to him. The members of Trickstar, his fellow classmates at Yumenosaki, the idols at ES and especially... her.

"(Y/n)!" Subaru wrapped his arms around his dear producer from behind.

"Hi Subaru-kun...." She trailed off distracted by her tablet in her hands, today's concert had been completely booked, not one seat left open, as expected of Trickstar.

"Producer-chan?" Hokuto waved a hand in front of her face.

She blinked once, twice and then tore her gaze away from the tablet to give her classmates a warm smile, "I'm sorry, I just want to make sure everything is in order for today, you're on in five."

"Haha, you don't have to worry so much, you always are the best~! Everything is always sparkly and bright~!☆" Subaru cheered.

"Yeah it's alright!" Mao put a hand on her shoulder.

"Thanks guys, it means a lot! I can't wait to see you all kill it out there!" She held up a light stick and grinned.

"Yeah! Come on Trickstar!" Mao cheered and headed off with the rest of his group.

"Hi everyone~! I hope you enjoy our concert. Let's go Infinite Star!"

The four began to sing, the feeling of happiness washed over everyone who heard them sing. The young producer stood backstage smiling at the group singing their hearts out. She went over to make sure the sound and lighting was okay as it had malfunctioned in the past, it wasn't all that big but it was better to have ever done correctly.

On the stage Subaru sang and danced proudly and with passion hoping he made at least someone's day just that much better. Everything was fine until a girl somehow grasped the edge of the stage and tried to haul herself up on stage.

"Subaru! ♡" She cooed trying to fully stand on the stage.

The boy froze, flashing back to a darker time.

"Breaking news: Akehoshi concert, one death reported. He killed her by pushing her off stage."

Subaru stared at the screen and stopped playing with his puppy. His eyes growing wide as his father was put in handcuffs and led into a police car, the idols's expression was one of sadness and confusion.

Subaru ran up to the TV, "Daddy?" Tears fell from his eyes, his dad would never do anything bad, he was always so sparkly, this was a lie right?

He came home to find the house spray painted on and derogatory statements against him and his mother were graffitied on to his home. He wasn't safe anywhere.

He stared at the grave stone, it's presence made itself known with the cold aura radiating from it. He cried as his mother silently shook, mourning the loss of her husband.

That was when he took his oath, "I want to be an idol too, not just for him but myself too."

The other members faltered looking at the frozen Akehoshi and the fan steadily getting closer to him, his expression displayed terror and sadness.

"Akehoshi!" Hokuto grabbed his arm.

(Y/n) shut off sound from their microphones, the only noise was of the fans and the background music.

"It can't be.... Dad I...." Subaru whispered, the only thing on his mind was to run. The producer realized where the orange head was running off to so she bolted backstage to go find him as soon as she finished giving instructions to the staff.

"Subaru-kun!" She burst into the room, breathing heavily.

She found him with his head in his arms crying silently. She sat next to him and put her arms around him. "Shhhhh, it's okay."

She gently pet his back trying to comfort him. He lifted his head up, his blue eyes drowning in tears and his face red.

She wiped his tears with her thumbs and smiled, "you talk whenever you feel like it okay?"

He put his arms around her hugging her properly. His tears wet her shoulder as he let go of all of his emotions. She ran her fingers through his orange locks in an attempt to calm him down.

The other members flung the door open and stepped into the room, concern painted all over their faces, they immediately relaxed seeing their friend with (Y/n).

Subaru slowly looked up to see Mao, Hokuto and Makoto. He removed himself from the girl and guiltily looked down at his hands. "I'm sorry, it just reminded me of what happened with my dad and it scared me and brought back those bad memories. I'm sorry (Y/n) you put so much effort into making sure our live went well and Sarii, Hokke and Ukki you guys were being so sparkly and I killed it by running away."

"Hey it's okay, it wasn't your fault. We all get scared and stressed, that's all part of being human. Don't worry about this, it can be mended. Remember you have us and we can fix it together!" She took his hands in hers and squeezed them affectionately. "Now do you want to continue this? If you're not feeling well we can postpone it to another day."

Subaru stood up, a determined look taking over his features, "no, I want to continue this. I don't want anyone's hard work to go to waste."

She smiled, "ok then! I'll be cheering you on silently from the shadows. Let's do this!"

They all high fived, the cheerful atmosphere filling the room once again.

Subaru stared at the girl walking out, though she was in the shadows, he always saw her bathed in a beautiful brilliance.
