A Starry Sky (Natsume Sakasaki)

As you can see I didn't do his speech pattern thing, let's be honest we all knew I was going to mess that up if I tried. Enjoy the (kinda) edited version of this one-shot!

The evening's soft sunlight created an orange glow that filtered into the school library through the windows. I stretched and yawned as I looked down at the completed proposals and homework, today turned out to be quite productive.

I began packing up my belongings and papers when a soft voice spoke behind me, "Hey~ Kitten, what are you doing? Hm~?"

I spun around to face my classmate Natsume Sakasaki. His long red and white bangs casted shadows over his face as he grinned at me.

"Huh? Natsume-kun? What are you doing here? Aren't most people home by now?" I said a little startled from his sudden appearance. "As for your question I was simply finishing some work."

"Well I just woke up from a little nap. You know~ I heard from some people that the stars are going to look beautiful tonight. So you wanna go out with me?" He asked, winking.

Blood rushed to my face turning my cheeks red. "H-huh?" I stuttered, stumbling back a bit.

He leaned in closer to my face, "Go. Out. With. Me?"

"W- well, no one has asked me to do anything for this evening and I did finish my work..." I trailed off, my face warm.

"Then meet me by the gate at 8 tonight. I can't wait to see you Kitten~." And with that he disappeared.

Well he can definitely be eccentric, but Switch was one of the first groups to welcome me into Yumenosaki when I transferred a couple months back. Natsume had sometimes been annoying but deep down I always had some sort of feelings for Natsume. He's been there for me to lighten up my mood if I was feeling down and has helped find my way around the school, I'm really lucky to have someone like him in my life, and for him to finally ask me out after having a crush on him for months was the best thing I could ask for.

*~Time Skip~*

I got ready and looked at myself in the mirror, I hoped I looked okay. I had worn a red top and black skirt paired with knee high socks. I smiled at the thought of seeing Natsume soon. I wonder what he has planned for us. I turned on my phone to check the time, it was 7:50pm. Panic seized me, oh no only ten minutes.

I slipped on my sneakers and ran out the door to the school.

I finally arrived at the school gate, hands on my knees and panting since I was out of breath.

"Hm? Why are you breathing so heavily Kitten?" Natsume asked as he leisurely walked up to me.

"I ran... all the way... here because I was going to be late...." I replied between gasps of air.

"Makes sense, you do know I hate to be kept waiting." He said while giving me a smirk, "also you look pretty cute tonight, what are you trying to do, seduce me?"

"No, also you don't look too bad yourself." I rolled my eyes with a smile on my face.

"I always look good, Kitten." He smirked.

I huffed, "well then, where to?"

He grabbed my hand and simply said, "follow me."

We walked for about ten minutes until we arrived at a hill, we walked at a slow pace up the hill while keeping a light conversation going. Once we got to the summit we had a clear view of the starry night sky. Velvety darkness covered the sky with the stars light piercing through the darkness as if they were tiny diamonds.

"Natsume-kun," I breathed, "this is amazing."

"Of course it is, I wanted our little date to be perfect."

My breath hitched, so this really is a date. Surprised, I looked over at Natsume and gave him a warm smile while putting my head on his shoulder,I whispered, "Thank you."

Suddenly Natsume moved forward and I almost fell over, losing my footing.

"Look! It's a shooting star! You should make a wish~."

I looked up to see a streak of blue go across the sky. I closed my eyes and folded my hands, making a wish. Once I was done I looked over to see Natsume doing the same.

He opened his eyes and gave me a Cheshire grin, "hm, what did you wish for Kitten?"

"My lips are sealed." I replied, refusing to tell him my wish. "My wish may not come true if I tell you."

"You want to know what I wished for?" Asked Natsume.

"You don't have to tell me and even if you do I'm not saying."

He leaned in closer to my face and whispered, "I wished for this...."

He grabbed me by the waist pulling me closer to him and pressed his lips against mine. My eyes widened in shock and my cheeks heated up. Slowly I recovered and kissed him back, while wrapping my arms around his neck. When we pulled away we were both out of breath.

I pressed my forehead against his and whispered, "I love you...."

He gave me a smirk, "of course you do Kitten, I love you too."
