**OKAY SORRY IF YOU HATE ME FOR LEAVING ANOTHER AUTHOR'S NOTE, BUT IF REALLY LIKE TO GET THIS STORY WELL-KNOWN. I APOLOGIZE FOR MY CRAPPY GRAMMAR. LOVE YOU ALL------LOVE HANNAH
I was soon snapped out of my little nap, a very pretty stewardess in her twenties was tapping my shoulder. "Excuse me young man, would you like something to eat or drink? She smiled and looked at me expectantly.
I shyly smiled back and opted for some Apple juice and pretzels. As she went to go get my snack, I gingerly folded down the little table by my knees, She came back with my snack and a napkin.
I meekly thanked her and she nodded before continuing with her job.
I wasn't very hungry at the moment, so I left my snack on the table and Started reading my book? But it wasn't long before I dozed off once more.
I had a nightmare. I sound like a baby, But that's what happened. In the dream, I was on one side of a glass wall, and my mom was in the other. I pounded it with my fists, But I may as well have been punching a brick wall. All of a sudden, my mom started yelling something, But I couldn't hear her. Then she froze to her spot, a horrified expression crossed her face as she pointed at something behind me. Before I could turn around, I snapped awake.
The elderly man to my left put his hand on my shoulder. "You alright son?" He looked at me with a concerned, grandfatherly look about him.
"I'm alright, thanks." I replied rather sheepishly.
He looked me over, having decided that I wasn't telling the truth, he spoke once more, "You know, when my son was your age, He always had Nightmares, can you guess what always helped?"
I shrugged.
"Butterscotch." He said.
My mind went blank for a moment. "What?" I couldn't tell if he was serious.
"You heard me. Butterscotch." He reached into his pocket and dumped a handful of the candy into my lap.
He winked, "Works like a charm."
I smiled and popped one in my mouth. "Thank you sir."
He smiled at me and went back to reading his newspaper.
The flight was uneventful for another 45 minutes or so. Then, I felt a small tremor, My Apple juice rippled as the plane shook. It only lasted for a short while, but soon the nervous whispers filled the air.
At the front off the plane, the pretty stewardess came onto the intercom. "Excuse me ladies and gentlemen, we're sorry for the interruption, but you may experience some mild turbulence at this time."
Well that was an understatement.
The plane shook and wobbled, suddenly, The entire plane swerved and several people screamed.
Then all was frozen, but after a moment, chaos rang through.
The power surged, The engines made loud grumbling noises, everyone was panicked. I clutched my armrests.
And then we fell.
It was slow motion. I looked around at people screaming and flailing.
At the very moment of impact, We because silent.
We had crashed, fate had left us out of her favor, and had abandoned us in a soaKing husk of a plane. Among only each other. To die.
