(Evan Ryder is a black leather, outsider football player who hides his love of stuffed creatures behind game day warpaint. Mich Campbell is a top notch football CAPTAIN with a music and pastels obsession. He's college campus king and beloved by faculty and students. Though they should be familiar with one another, Mich hardly gives Evan the time of day, that is until Evan finds out that Mich has been hitting on his sister.
Determined to give Mich a piece of his mind, Evan tries to pretend Mich is NOT infact almost double his size. He has to do this, it's what brothers are supposed to do... but does he have anything in his favor?)
Evan had one job. One and only one. Usually it was two jobs but this was the final point, and Captain Mich Campbell never passes up the opportunity to make the final point. So he did exactly what Evan expected.
Mich faked a pass to Evan and Evan took off like a shot. In seconds, a large hoard of big guys were on his tail, the only people between him and the turf was Rodey and Burnham. Neither waited too long before letting Evan get tackled.
He was a great faker after all. Great enough that at least three large guys threw their body weight on to Evan's back. Painful? Yes.
Worth it?
Ask the screaming crowd as Mich threw himself over the touchdown line with the final point.
As soon as the guys realized what had happened under their noses, they all climbed off of Evan. Evan groaned, knowing he would have bruises in the morning. Or maybe in a hour, who knows.
"Wicked good fake, dude. Need help up?" One of the opposing players offered. He had gotten used to seeing this guy around. They extended their hand as Evan turned over. He took it before being practically launched to his feet.
"Thanks, Buck."
"No problem, Ryder."
Once again, as Evan looked over, his team was screaming as loud as their lungs could belt. A few guys carried Mich around on their shoulders while the school cried out his name. At a college this large, it was jaw dropping that they ALL seemed to know his name. Even the other team seemed surprised.
"47!" One of the guys called out to Evan. That was his jersey number. His gave them a polite wave as if he actually intended to go over there in a bit. Of course, he did not.
"Shouldn't you celebrate with your team?" Buck asked. Evan shrugged, which wasn't all too visible with the pads on. So, he took off his helmet and brushed through his wild black hair to get it out of bluebell eyes.
"Meh. They won't notice I'm gone. Besides, I gotta go talk to my sister."
Buck shrugged and softly punched Evan in the arm. He pulled off his helmet too.
"Alrighty. Tell Bella I said hi. Oh, and how's she doing anyway?" Buck asked.
Evan raised an eyebrow and folded his arms over his chest. Buck knew what the look meant and sighed. Evan answered anyway.
"Still goth, still a lesbian, and still dating your sister- who you should call by the way."
Buck shrugged.
"Oh well, it was worth a shot, right? I'll see Sadie at Thanksgiving." Buck was interrupted as his teammates called his name across the field. "That's my cue. I'll see ya around, Ryder. Grams still says y'all are invited to Thanksgiving too."
Buck started to run off as Evan laughed and gave him a half salute. Buck smiled back and joined his team.
Buck was basically assigned to tackle Evan whenever he had the ball. Which was ironic after they found out Buck's sister, Sadie, was tackling Evan's sister, Bella. Ever since, the Ryders have been going over to their place for holidays.
