(Phoebe's POV)
"And a one and a two!!"
Come on Phoebe you got this
"You ready?"
My dance partner whispers to me "Yeah" I nodded.
"And a one two three, come on let's go!!" My dance teacher, Miss Annie shouts.
Alright time to dance.
"Come on! Let's go, let's go!!" All the other dancers shouted hyping us up. As I moved my hips from side to side and my partner did the same and by then the music stopped and it was time to go home.
"Hey, you too did well today," Miss Annie says praising us.
"Thanks"
"Thank you" we thanked her.
"Hey!! loved that ending y'all did, fire!" One of my dance mates shouts.
"Thanks!" I shouted back, walking towards my bag that was in the corner of the dance room.
Not even noticing that someone was walking behind me."Hey," The person says only to realize it was my dance partner, Ocean.
Ocean Cort...
"You were killing it out there, even better than me," She says with a little humor and a smile on her face.
"It was nothing" I replied with a shrug turning around to pick up my bag off the floor.
Me and Ocean weren't that close, the only thought I had of her was that she was a good dancer. And that was it. She's been dancing at Miss Annie for about a year..like me, but I knew Miss Annie longer or even before dancing in her class.
So sometime later we got to know each other, but more like...associates.
On my way to the double glass doors "Hey! Wait up!" I stopped in my tracks turning around slightly only to see Ocean jogging towards me.
Looking at her suspiciously "What?" I question raising a brow.
"Umm I-I just thought that.." she trailed off
"Thought what??" Fully turning around facing towards her.
"I-I thought that maybe you know since we're in the same dance class for a couple of years now. I think we should hang out...you know.." She insisted a little hesitant.
I'm not gonna lie I wasn't excepting this, yes we've been in the same class for a year now, but I wouldn't think she wanted to hang out with me. Everybody thinks I'm too imitating. But I guess that comes with being a black girl.
"Soo..." she says when I didn't reply.
"Uhm.. sure I guess" I replied with a shrug.
"Cool," she gushed.
I'm not even gunna front she is one beautiful girl and I saying that means everything. Even her smile is beautiful you could tell she has dimples..on both of her cheeks actually, but not to sound cocky..mines are deeper.
Ocean is a mixed girl, I heard that her mom is black and her dad is Dominican. She stands around 5'4 but besides that, she's a very cute girl.
I turn around and walk through the double door with her following behind, we walked down the sidewalk in silence.
"So what do you like to do on the weekend? She questions breaking the silence.
I shrugged "Nothing I guess" I mean besides dancing there's nothing much for me to do. "Probably sleep all day, who knows" I continued.
