-UNEDITED CHILDREN-
Coach lined us up in the inside hall. "Okay..so as you know - kageyama is seriously injured and probably won't be able to play for the rest of our games." I looked down at the ground. I feel so bad even though shoyo said it wasn't my fault.. It still feels like it. "Now, this means that sugawara, you're going to start the games and Hinata, you're going to close the game from the 6th." I look next to me shoyo nods. "We can bounce back from this and let's do our best to make it to the finals. Let's give kageyama a chance to pitch there.." And with that, we all unloaded out of the hall.
I sigh quietly. I walk to opposite way from my dorms and down the path. I need to clear my head.
I sit down on the hill that led down to the baseball feileds.
'How could I let kageyama get hit? He's only a first year and that might effect his baseball career. God I'm an idiot.' I scold myself enternally. I hear a rustle of grass next to me. I roll over onto my left side to see an orange mess of hair. "Shoyo?" I ask "What are you doing here?" "I could ask you the same thing?" He hummed as I laid flat on my back once more. "Clearing my head.." I hear him audibly sigh."Its not your fault, Yuu. You know that." He soeaks. "I know, but I still feel bad. "Don't, we have the quarterfinals in 2 days. We need to focus on getting to nationals, for the third years - for the team." Shoyo was right and of course I wasn't going to admit that. "Damn, when did shoyo become a motivational speaker?" He pushed my shoulder. "Shut up." We fell into a comfortable silence. I turned my head to look at shoyo.
The moon was emitting a tinted silver, reflecting onto each one of the shimmering stars. Its rays striked down onto shoyos face, making him illuminate as he glowed. He looked.. Really pretty. I hadnt realised I was staring for long when-
"Do I have something on my face?" Shoyo looked at me. "N-no.." Goddamnit I stuttered. He huffed out a laugh. "Just a nice view?" He winked. Godamn that wink is doing things to me I don't want to happy right now.. "Yeah, very nice view." I save myself, kinda..? We fall back into silence. You know what. Fuck it.
"You know shoyo, you're really pretty." I see a blush dust over his cheeks. "Thank you." He mumbled quietly. I was about to say something more when a water droplet splashed onto the grass next to me and soon we were met with 2, 3, 4 and more. "Quick shoyo-" I hold out my hand and pull him up. I intertwine our fingers as we starts running through the dampening grass. Luckily, we are both baseball players, so we are pretty fast. But shoyos clumsy ass decides to trip over his own feet.
He fell down behind me, dragging me with him. We both laugh as we get drenched in rain. "We might as well lay in the rain now.." Shoyo looked at me. I nod. Our fingers were still intertwined as we stared up at the pouring sky. This was the best night of my life.
