"An amulet, you say?" Dia asked while spacing out.
"Any idea kung para saan ang susing 'yon?" I asked.
Silence envelops our living room while Cain is snoring on the couch. I show them the picture and Dia's eyes start to hesitate. Ah, stupid.
"You know what, I have three brains and here you are lying in front of my fucking face while trying to avoid it, young sister." Dia starts to panic and keeps on walking back and forth. "Spill it or I'll bury you for over a century."
She quickly kneeled in front of me while her hands are shaking on her lap. "I'm b-begging you, brother. I really don't know what's the use of that amulet. I just gave it to Aurel before...when we were still young."
"You what?!" Deis' reacted.
"He keeps on talking about our father's amulet. H-He challenge my love for him. If I truly love him, I'll sneak that amulet and give it to him. That's what happened." She explained.
"Fool. Such a fool! Why would you believe in such lies?!" Deis' asked while reacting violently.
"Still young that time, brother!" she replied. "I don't know about shit and I just gave my everything. I have so many unfinished thoughts before after he betrayed me! It feels like all the clouds in me are raining. He can sleep warmly at night while I'm just drowning myself in darkness." she starts sobbing.
"Ugh, Claudia. Stop crying." Cain said while slowly getting up on the couch. "Ever since the world began, Aurel is a dick. See? He manipulated his stepdaddy, Deis, just to get the Palace."
The blazing golden eyes of Deis started to heat up. I added fuel. "Yeah, Aurel is a pain in the ass. Who would have thought that he's going to be the President instead of Brandeis?" I scoffed. "Keeps on pitying those lowly vampires while they stabbed you at the back."
"Spit another word or I'll crush your head, Louis."
"Another drop in respect, Brandeis, I'll bury you and your future family in the dirt." My cold red eyes met his.
Dia is panicking on the floor. "Just...just trust me this time, brother Louis. Every move I will make, I promise you to think of it carefully! Please, trust me! Please!"
"Get up," I commanded. "Where our mother's silver scarf. We're going to Paper Candles at exactly 5 am. We all need a rest. It's still 3 am so we still have 2 hours. Gather your energy. There's a 50 - 50 chance of fighting."
I get up from my seat and started to climb the stairs. Her shadow lingers in the corner and I just give her a sigh.
"Stop causing us trouble, halfties. Deis' baby is more than enough." I said before I enter my room.
I can't share my thought with my siblings. For some reason, my thoughts are heavy to handle. Cain can shake my mind up and can read my wrongdoings; he's my cousin after all.
