Johnny was sitting alone in his bedroom while Cruz was in the room opposite. Playing on his PC. You could faintly hear him playing 'Among Us'

Jacob then entered Johnny's room, looking kind of upset.
"What's wrong with you, you don't look good"

Jacob stood and stared
"Well my Uncle has been in an accident. I have to go back to Canada for a while, my Moms a wreck and my Grandma, she's just." Jacob explained in sorrow

"Go, you don't need to explain yourself, your family needs you. Go" Johnny told him

"But what about us? We're kind of getting somewhere"
Jacob asked

"Jacob you're cute, but you're not what I need right now I'm not over Cruz and i doesn't feel right being with anyone else" Johnny explained

"Yeah I understand, it was too early and I was a rebound. Is that what you mean?" Jacob asked

"No, not a rebound! I couldn't have gotten through the past three months without you. It's just we both know it wasn't working and there was something missing.." Johnny told him

"Yeah, u still love Cruz" Jacob said while heading for the door.

"I don't still lov.."
Jacob closed the door before Johnny could finish.

Jacob went to say bye to Cruz, afterwards he and Maria headed to the airport.

As they both left the car to say their temporary goodbye, Jacob said
"He really does love him doesn't he?"

"Yeah.. The only people that don't know Johnny's still in love with Cruz are Johnny and Cruz"
Maria said.

Jacob stopped for a second and said
"How am I supposed to compete with that?
or anyone for that matter?"

Maria left Jacob once she knew he had passed security safely. So she made her way back home.

As Maria got into the house, it was pure silence first.

Maria then walked upstairs and saw Johnny playing on his Ps4, while Cruz. Looked to be writing something, looked quite lengthy.

Once Johnny had enough of playing on his game, he headed downstairs for a snack, he had to pass Cruz on the way down and they both exchanged looks.

Maria told the boys she had made spaghetti and meatballs and it was ready. So all three of them gathered in the kitchen for their dinner.

The dinner table conversation mainly consisted of plans for rehearsing and going over lines for their series.

In the middle of the meal Maria announced there was going to be a new boy coming to stay for a bit as he has his own 'Prime Video Original" series launching soon so he needs to be down in the UK for briefs.

during the entirety of the meal, Cruz's phone was going off, someone had been texting him constantly.
Johnny didn't take much notice as it could have been a fan or just some twat spamming him.

As Cruz finally took his phone from his pocket to look at the pile of messages he had received.
Johnny watched Cruz, as he read the messages.

Cruz could feel Johnny watching his reactions to the texts so he controlled them as much as he could.
Cruz read a specific message that caught him off guard and made him smile.

Johnny saw the smile, he saw the focus on Cruz's face. The excitement from the words he read. Cruz didn't know but Johnny knew Cruz just as well as his brother or even his father. Cruz couldn't really hide his emotions well around Johnny.

Johnny felt horrible because he has a suspicion that Cruz was texting another boy. The feeling that another person could make Cruz laugh, smile or cry made Johnny furious. Johnny wasn't good at hiding his emotions either.

Cruz could see from across the table that Johnny knew something was wrong. He was right all along.

Cruz had been speaking to Dylan, constantly. They had gotten super close over the three months. They established a bond that Dylan and Johnny never had the chance to find.

Cruz didn't want to tell Johnny about Dylan for a bunch of reasons, Cruz still wasn't completely over Johnny but was sure he didn't want to be with him at this point. He also didn't want to share it with Johnny because he wouldn't understand. All he would see is that Cruz went to Dylan(a previous hookup for Johnny) after they had broken up.
It was even worse because Cruz knew that Johnny was an excellent observer of character and he would just never understand.
