•~Chapter Ten: The Grass Gym!•~

I paced back in forth in front of the grass gym, nervously waiting for Leon to arrive. I was quite nervous since it was my first gym, there was gonna be a big crowd of people, and that Galar's champion was coming to watch. Combusken rolled her eyes as she leaned against the building, wanting to go in already. Drizzile gave me comforting pats every once and a while. Soon enough the sound of cheering made me jump, I looked up and saw Leon flying down on his Charizard. I quickly took a breath trying to calm myself down.

"Okay (Y/N).. your gonna do great..! Just.. breathe." I sighed, letting out another breath. I waited for Leon to greet the crowd of people before waving him over. He grinned and walked up to me, Charizard by his side. Combusken quickly grew excited at Charizard's presence.

"Hiya (Y/N)! You ready for your first gym?" He asked, I nodded.

"Yeah! A bit nervous.. but I know I can handle it." I smiled, trying to show that I wasn't nervous. Combusken smiled up at Charizard, who in return gave the smaller Pokémon a smirk.

"Torchic and Sobble evolved huh?" He asked, bending down to give Drizzile some pats. I chuckled.

"Yeah. They were ready for the gym challenge before I even was.." I quickly spoke, I looked up and noticed people were watching and whispering among each other. I began to get embarrassed. Leon stood up again and I quickly grabbed his wrist and began to pull him inside.

"Let's get going before the gym gets too crowded..!" I yelled, quickly walking inside. Leon looked at my hand wrapped around his wrist and he laughed, as I basically dragged him inside. I quickly pulled him into a corner, people gave him waves as he walked by.

"You alright (Y/N)?" He asked, I quickly realized I was still holding his wrist. I quickly tucked my hand in my pocket, I put my other hand on my neck.

"Yeah.. just-"

"Nervous?" He asked, I nodded.

"I've never battled in front of so many people before.. I'm not really sure if I can handle it." I muttered, Leon put his hand on my shoulder and I looked at him.

"I believe you can do it (Y/N). You just gotta believe in yourself." He smiled, I could feel my face heating up and I quickly brushed his hand off my shoulder.

"Okay.. I got it.." I chuckled, I noticed he quickly pulled his hand away. I frowned, he probably thought he went to far by touching my shoulder. I wanted to tell him it was okay but I couldn't.

"I'll head into the gym, see you soon alright?" He waved, his Charizard gave me a small nod before following him. Combusken jumped in excitement. Ready to take on any grass type that stood in her way. I awkwardly walked up to the person standing in front of the entrance.

"Hi.. I'm here to take on the grass gym." I spoke, the girl pulled out a checklist.

"What's your name and uniform number?" She asked.

"(Y/N) and my uniform number is (U/N)." I spoke, the girl went down her list and quickly checked off my name.

"Perfect! Milo's ready for ya now! You'll have to change into your uniform first, changing room is on your right!" She smiled, pointing towards the door. I nodded and gave her a small 'thanks' before heading towards the change room. I quickly pulled my uniform out of my bag and got changed. I tucked my clothes into my bag and awkwardly slid out of the room. I couldn't help but notice people staring at me. I walked up to the woman and she smiled, moving out of the way so I could pass.

"Good luck gym challenger!" She spoke. I quickly walked through the first set of doors and was told to go to the door on my left to do the gym mission. I nodded and walked inside, my eyes widened. The room was pretty big, and their was Wooloo gathered in a small group at the end of the staircase. There was a fence build around the first area. I quickly walked down the first steps, Combusken following close behind. I held on to both Driziles and Riolu's Pokéballs that were strapped to Pokéball holders that were clipped on my pants. When I reached the bottom stair, a man quickly ran beside me, I turned to him.
