Chapter Thirteen
Part Two
“I’ve missed you, Devany” went a voice that stirred something deep inside me. Something familiar. Something too far to reach for.
But it was very familiar.
My lips parted, my eyes widened. Something told me something was going to happen now. Something I didn’t know. Something that wouldn’t be for me to control afterwards. Slowly, I tipped my neck upwards, preparing myself to lock eyes with whoever was in front of me.
Whatever else happens, I wouldn’t worry. After all, I didn’t have a reason to right?
It all seemed to be in slow motion. My vision met with the end of his shirt, upwards to his neck when I heard the voice that made flutters dance inside me.
“Devany!”
I looked over my shoulder, seeing Asmodeus running towards me.
“Asmodeus-” before I could completely stand, he pulled my arm in his direction and locked me in his steel embrace. His body shivered. As if he was afraid of something.
“You stay away from her” he growled at the person behind me.
Asmodeus took two steps backwards and held me so unbelievably tight against him that it was useless to try to free myself. But still, “Asmodeus-” I pushed at his chest “Let me go”
“I will,” he whispered in my ear “but you and I need to talk. About everything. Now”
Angelo:
Now the bastard makes an appearance. I was so close to finally reclaiming what was rightfully mine from the start. He whispered in her ear, and all the while his arms held her, his eyes were ice cold as they glared at me. Today was when Devany was supposed to be mine again. She was born mine.
Asmodeus, you know she rightfully belongs to me. I growled my thoughts into his mind.
Finders keepers, was his response. I am never letting her step foot out of hell’s gates without me ever again.
“Fine” Devany muttered, “but we’re only talking”
“Deal,” Asmodeus smiled grimly in my direction. I win, he mentally told me.
“Devany?” I spoke. I knew my voice was familiar to her, but it wasn’t as strong anymore. Asmodeus had claimed her, and she now belonged to him.
“Who is he?” Devany asked him
“An old friend of yours” Asmodeus closed his eyes briefly. Relaxing now.
