Breathing deeply to catch him breath, Kageyama removed his shoes and jacket, then climbed out of his brother's closet and listened for his parents. Miwa came rushing into the room, pulled Kageyama to the floor, then they both put their hands to their faces, put their heads down and pretended to cry. Suddenly they heard the door behind them open, but neither turned around, they stayed in that position. The door closed as quickly as it opened.
The siblings remained in their current position for a while before moving, knowing that their father would often try and trick them. They heard the door open and close again, knowing their father had stayed in the room to see if they were faking, but decided to leave once he realized the siblings weren't moving.
When the door closed, Miwa hugged Tobio tightly and whispered softly in his ear "don't scare me like that again. Please try to make it home on time. You know what dad would do to the both of us". Pushing Tobio away from her, she looked at him with tears in her eyes. "I can't lose you too. You're my younger brother and I'll do anything to protect you. I couldn't save Obito, but I promise I'll save you even if it means giving my own life in the process".
Tobio hugged Miwa tightly and started crying "please don't say that, I don't want you to die. Life would be impossible without you. I'm so sorry I was late, I tried to get away, but you know how clingy Hina is".
Miwa smiled at her brother, "I know, that's why I prepared everything ahead of time just in case you were late".
Tobio smiled at his sister, "thank you. I love you so much".
The siblings pulled apart from the hug and stood. Miwa ruffled Tobio's hair "I love you too", then walked out of Obito's bedroom.
Tobio walked into his bedroom to see that Miwa had rolled around in his bed to make it look as if he was having a restless sleep, then had gotten up and gone to Obito's room. This was not the first time she had covered for him.
Tobio laid in his bed on his back and thought about his brother, Obito.
