Mayu's POV
I was sitting and nodding to my classmates who were talking about some party happening tonight. Honestly, its not my style. Parties were never really my scene to be more exact, none the less I would go.
"I heard they got a pool" One of the girls said. She squeals excitedly while looking expectantly at me. "Right, I am sure it will be quite fun." I tried to sound enthusiastic while cracking a small smile. Great, a social gathering with drunk teens who just want to get in each others pants. I watch them continue their conversation while I let my eyes wander to the contents on the other side of this window.
The bell rang, signaling for everyone to take their seats so the class may start. I sat up straighter and slowly turned my head to the front, ready for the lesson.
10 Minutes Later..
I already felt tired and we were only 10 minutes into the lesson. My eyes slowly feeling heavy, my head slowly dipping downward towards my desk. I closed my eyes just for a little bit, welcoming the darkness.
"Mr. Mayu!" I was startled and sat up straight, glancing around for the source of the voice, eyes landing on Ms. Banks whos raising an eyebrow at me. She clears her throat, gesturing to the written math equation behind her. I sat in the very back corner, I see 2 to 3 people obviously asleep and they sat more to the front than me. I huff and stand up, already knowing she wants me to solve it.
As soon as I stood up a voice rang out. "Ms. Ill solve the equation!" All eyes turned to a white haired boy, one green eye due to his hair partially covering his other eye, an obvious tattoo underneath his eye, his green sweater that complimented his look. How odd, I have never noticed him before.
He shuffled his way to the front and scribbled away to solve this equation. He takes a step back as Ms. Banks checks to make sure it was right. "Nicely done, but where is your work?"
The only thing he wrote was the answer. The boy in green shrugged and said, "I just guessed."
Excuse me, what?
Ms. Banks was slightly annoyed. She excused him back to his seat as Ms. Banks continued the lesson. I was chuckling to myself quietly, for someone who volunteers their self only to guess the answer. What an odd fellow.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at home wondering what to wear. I have gone to parties but they were more like social gatherings for wealthy adults who wanna just talk about finance and rubbing elbows with higher status people. I ended up settling for a white collared shirt, neatly tucked into my black pants.
I heard a honk outside and made my way downstairs. My mother and father not once glancing up from their computer screens murmuring to themselves. I take one last glance and head out, giving my friends my usual small smile.
"Are you ready?" The girl in the pink dress said, her eyes were blue with her blonde hair cascading over her right shoulder, her pink lipstick matching her outfit. I nod my head and buckle up in the back seat. The car revved and drove off, I watch the lights and houses pass by quickly.
I felt a hand on my knee making me look at neatly painted pink nails, I follow the arm slowly as I had expected, it was the girl with the pink dress. Her eyes were on the road in front but her hand meant otherwise. She would subtly glance at me while returning to her and her friends conversation.
I shifted uncomfortably and gently swatted her hand away, making the girl pout but hiding it quickly when her friends struck up another topic.
"Yo, we're here!" I quickly got out of the car, stretching my limbs and taking in the night air. I was shuffled inside and was hit the toxic smell of alcohol. I slowly made my way to the backyard where the pool was, the house was too packed with people trying to grind on each other.
