The week slowly dragged by and every student in the school couldn't stop talking about the upcoming party. Leo's party was always anticipated for it was one of the biggest of every year. It was all they could talk about at school.

Other than that, the week was quite normal. Mayu and Leo were spending more time together, unknowingly to them, either working on a project, tutoring or simply talking to each other. Their time spent together did not go unnoticed by the rest of the student body. Zecke, Lin, and Dina were getting angry and jealous while the rest were simply enjoying the interaction with one another. Neither of the boys noticed the shift in their relationship and were oblivious to the showing signs.

"Are you still coming tonight?" Leo asked Mayu for the hundredth time. Both boys were sitting in the library doing their homework. It was after school and a few hours before the party. Leo was having a particularly hard time understanding his biology assignment.

"Yes, for the thousand time" Mayu said a little annoyed. "Ask me one more time and I'm not going"

"Just want to make sure" Leo said. There was something in his voice that made Mayu look up from his paper. Leo was fidgeting and kept tapping his fingers together. It was unusual for him to show any signs of discomfort in public and that made Mayu slightly frown.

"What is up with you?" He asked Leo. "Why is it so important for me to show up?"

Leo slightly rolled his eyes. He was about to say something but decided to not to. "Never mind" He said at last. Mayu knew there was something up with his usual cheerful friend. Leo had been acting strange for a while and his weird attitude got worse each day closing on his party.

"You sure you're OK?" Mayu asked again.

"Im alrighty!" Leo said with a grin. "Its just that, not everyday one turns eighteen"

"I thought your birthday was Sunday?" Mayu said

"It is, but since the party is tonight, it is almost as good a day. Besides, Sunday I am spending it with my family"

"Is that why the party is on Friday?"

"I cannot have a family supper while hungover, can I?" Leo said with a smile.

Mayu laughed genuinely. He was not one to laugh, especially with the type of people in this school, Leo was an exception however. Leo couldn't help but laugh along as if it was contagious.

"So true." Mayu shook his head. Leo always thought about everything. They continued to work in silence until Zecke came in.

"Hey love birds" Zecke said with a cheeky grin which he only received two glaring set of eyes. Zecke only adjusted his hair out of his eyes and winked at them. "Mayu are you ready? We need to get going if we want to make it to the party in time"

"Yeah." Mayu said as he packed his bag and dressed up.  He turned around and looked at Leo. "I guess I'll see you soon"

Together both boys left the school and walked to Zecke's car. Zecke had this continuous grin on his face and kept glancing at Mayu who was getting quite annoyed.

"Leave it alone" Mayu said and Zecke shook his head. He noticed that Mayu was someone good with denial when it came to attachments. He also knew he wouldn't get anywhere if Mayu chose not to give anything.

"This is it boys" Zecke said from the driver seat. He had driven him and Mayu to Leo's house. Zecke hopped out of the car. Mayu hesitated and looked at Zecke.
