The next three days pass by quickly. Kurt and Rachel had taken the kids to the mall to meet Santa and go ice skating. another day Finn and Rachel went out to breadsticks for a date night. Kurt and Carole ended up watching a plethora of cheesy hallmark movies while Burt took Audrey and Carson to pick out a Christmas tree. They came back with a perfectly cute pine.

It was now the morning of Christmas Eve. Kurt was the first one awake and was already downstairs sipping peppermint tea. Blaine was also an early riser so they had called each other when they woke up to chat. Blaine talked about how his dad had only been slightly homophobic and how this was a major improvement from last year. He also said that Cooper's new wife was lovely.
They then made plans for the Christmas party later that night. Blaine would arrive after the kids went to bed because they had agreed to wait until back in New York for him to meet Audrey as Kurt's boyfriend. Kurt also told Blaine all about the fun he had over the past couple of days. When they hung up Kurt started on his Christmas-themed pancakes.
Every Christmas Eve Kurt made his special pancakes for breakfast it had been a tradition that his mom had started when he was little. She had taught him the recipe when he was young. He kept it when she died to someday make for his own kids. The pancakes were red velvet with cream cheese frosting drizzle and red and green sprinkles.
Burt and Carole were the next ones awake. Carson, Finn, Rachel, and Audrey soon followed.
They all sat down at the table and enjoyed the meal. Burt announced that after breakfast they would decorate the tree.

Carole emerges from the basement with a big box of ornaments. The family spends time enjoying the process, laughing and chatting while hanging the ornaments all around the tree.
A little ceramic handprint of Audreys is the first one to be added.
Next Carole hangs a little Santa in swim trunks from Carole and Burts honeymoon in Hawaii.
(they hadn't gotten to take the trip right after their wedding because of Kurt's transfer to dalton. Because of this Kurt had Surprised them with the tickets for their 6th anniversary.)
Finn put up a little framed picture of the glee club during Christmas caroling, all of them in matching outfits posing together in the Choir room.
Rachel put up a little porcelain dreidel because of course, she was still Jewish and proud. They celebrated Christmas with Finn's side of the family and spent the last night of Hanukkah with her dads.
Burt picks up a little mini snow globe from New York show choir nationals 2011. This makes Kurt snicker.
"Ahhh the kiss that missed, a trip I will never forget"
Rachel slaps him on the chest
"Kurt that was years ago will you ever let it go!" Rachel playfully rolled her eyes
"Hmmm," He sips his tea as he contemplates,
"Nope," He eventually responds giggling.
Audrey then finds an angel dressed in pink with her birthday printed on the bottom and adds that.
After a while, all of the ornaments were placed on the tree. The lights were glowing and popcorn had been strung around. When everyone else headed out of the living room
Burt held Kurt back for their own Christmas tradition.
Kurt lets a tear slip down his face as he takes his mom's perfume bottle from Burt's hand.
Kurt kisses the bottle lightly "I love you, momma, I miss you every day. merry Christmas." He says softly before adding the bottle to the tree.
Burt wraps Kurt in a tight hug. "I miss her too buddy." He whispers into Kurt's ear.
The father and son move to the kitchen to prepare for the party later that night.

Carole and Kurt had decided it would be easier to make the party a potluck.

Burt and Finn kept the kids entertained while Rachel decorated the house Carole and Kurt slaved away in the kitchen.
It was around 6:40 when Sam and Cedes showed up. They were 20 minutes early but offered to help set up. Well cedes offered to help set up. Sam and Finn were already tackling the kids in the living room causing loud fits of laughter to run through the house.
Rachel and cedes set up the karaoke machine in the living room for later. Kurt set out the foldable tables for the food he also picked out the perfect Christmas themed tablecloths.
Kurt set up his iPod with the speaker and Christmas music fills the house. Soon everything was in place and guests started to arrive.
