It's time
It's time for the wedding.
I need some alcohol in my system.
Pronto.
"Okay, calm your hoo-has" My sister says, stifling a smile while I pace the dressing room.
"What if I fuck up the makeup? What if it melts?"
"Peyton" It's 10 am and my sister sounds tired
She grabs my shoulders "You are going to slay, bae"
I cringe "You've been watching too much teen drama"
AJ rolls her eyes just as the bridesmaids walk in.
"Katlyn wants me to give you this, your dress" One of them hands me a lilac dress.
It hits me
Shit, I'm the maid of honor.
I look up to the sky. One more fucking face to work on.
I blow out a breath.
"Okay so" My head snaps up at the sound of AJ's voice.
"You sit here and you, there" She points to the seats
"We got this" She winks at me
Have I ever said I fucking adore my older sister?
After 4 grueling hours, It's time for Katlyn's makeup.
AJ and I are rewarding ourselves with champagne and my best friend walks in.
I almost drop my champagne glass and AJ splutters.
Katlyn looks ravishing, in a light violet-pink dress. She's wearing a wreath on her head and her coffee-colored hair frames her face softly.
My eyes glitter. She's practically glowing and I could not be happier for her.
As she sits down, she turns to me, her own eyes glassy.
"Thank you, Peyton. This is everything"
"Shh, don't make me cry, I'm not wearing waterproof mascara" I chide jokingly and we spend the rest of prep time in comfortable silence.
I'm walking out of the room and Oscar comes running up.
"Oi" I stop him "You are not going in. Bad luck. Shoo"
"I'm afraid bad luck has already struck" Oscar says
"What?!" I hiss, aware of how the bride is a door away.
"Christopher is missing"
