Chapter Two

Xiao Zhan made his way towards the balcony of their apartment to see if his husband was there. Yet, to his dismay, there was none. Only frostiness of winter. With heavy steps he came back at the dining table where the younger had kept the serving bowls, with lids closed. He was done searching for the younger in their apartment.

He started lifting the bowls to place it back into the refrigerator. There was no way he was going to eat the food which the prepared together alone. It was so unlikely of other to go out without informing.

Before he could finish transferring the bowls into fridge, his phone which was placed on the coffee table of living hall started ringing. Leaving the work there, he strode towards it thinking that it would be a call from his husband to inform about his whereabouts.

However, luck wasn't on his side today. It was from his manager. With a frown, he received it.

"Wei?" he greeted.

"Xiao Zhan, there is a sudden change in the schedule. The photo shoot is pre-scheduled in morning. Will you make it up?" the other person on the like informed, and Xiao Zhan glanced at the wall clock.

It says 11:57PM.

There were no sign of Wang Yibo, and hence he didn't have any reasons to cancel it. "Yes. Let's go with it. And don't work till late night. It's already mid night. Sleep early." He said with a concern voice.

"Yes boss. It's scheduled at 7:00AM." She informed.

"Got it. I will be there at the location by 6:45AM" he said. With a mutual understanding, without any further words both hanged up at the same time.

Xiao Zhan glanced at the clock for the last time before placing his phone back on the table and making his way towards their bedroom. One more night he has to sleep without his husband being at his side. Another night in that lonely apartment, in that cold bed. He sighed at the thought of sleeping alone on that king size bed.

Changing his mind, he glanced back at the couch. Spacious enough for a single person to sleep comfortably! He might as well sleep here than the empty bed without Yibo being in it. With a sudden shift in his thoughts, he made his way back at the couch, and curled himself into the foetus position on it.

It took him hours to finally be able to sleep, and wander off to dreamland where he and his lovely husband could spend time together. Where no one knew about them, where they can freely be with each other without any restrictions, where their relations can be accepted openly, where no one else but they will matter to each other.

When Wang Yibo was back, it was already half past three. The lights were still on in the living room. He wondered why the elder kept them on when he himself used to scold the younger in the name of saving energy. With a head shook he turned towards the dining area to get something to cushion his hungry stomach. But what caught his sight tore his heart into pieces. The serving bowls kept there was still untouched, neither any sign of his husband sitting on it. The note he had placed below one bowl was still intact. With a sigh, he placed all those dished inside fridge and moved towards their bedroom. While ambling towards it, he forgot to glance at the figure curling on the couch before turning off the lights.

Their room was as dark as ever when he stepped into it. A sudden breeze flowing inside through the open door of balcony gave him shiver. 'How can Zhan-ge sleep like that? He will fall sick if he leave this things open' he complained inwardly while walking towards the sliding door to close it properly. Once making sure that it was closed properly, he drew the curtains as he was planning to sleep for longer period of day tomorrow.

Swiftly getting into his side of bed, he stretched his hand to cuddle with other's warm body. Yet, soon he jolted up when he couldn't find other's presence in that cold bed. Hastily he got out and turned on the lights to check on his husband. However, there was not a presence of single living soul in there.
