"Let's get down to business. Today, I'll be giving you your next song for homework. I'll give students who didn't do well a second chance."

I wasn't really paying attention as Ryuya-chan talked about what we were doing in today's lesson. Instead, I was focused on how Haruka was doing. All those mean and cruel words that were written on the board weren't true, but that didn't stop the people who wrote them. Why is the world so cruel.

"(Y/n)... (Y/n) (L/n)-san!"

I jumped as I heard someone call my name. "Ehh!?" There were laughters from all around the room, as my face grew red. I realised it was Hyuga-sensei who had called my name because he must have noticed I wasn't paying attention. How stupid of me.

"Thank you. Now can I trust you to listen and focus for the rest of the lesson."

I nodded, clearly embarrassed and uncomfortable with the situation, but I knew it had to be said. Averting my gaze to my desk, I tried listening to the rest of Hyuga-sensei's speech.

"Now. Since this is another task, I wish for (Y/n) (L/n)-san to play the piano accompaniment piece please."

Surprised at hearing my name again, I stood up immediately, scraping my knee against the edge of the table in the process. "Yes Hyuga-sensei?"

"Here, if you would."

He handed me a few sheets of paper with various notes on it, to play for the class. Nervous, I stiffly walked to the back, where the piano was, and sat myself down. Everyone's eyes were on me, and it felt like nearly all of them were judging me. I noticed Kurusu-san was giving me a thumbs up, as he glared at a few kids who were tauntingly smiling at me. And Jinguji-san just smiled slyly in my direction. Even Ichinose-san seemed interested to say the least. Carefully adjusting the papers on their stand, I moved my fingers to where they should start.

I began playing the tune. It started off great, until I heard the loud footsteps of someone going past the class. Paying more attention to the window, I had probably messed up some notes by now. I tried staring harder, but what I saw made me gasp. There, covering her ear she as she ran past, was Haruka-san. She looked distressed and I couldn't help but feel my concern for her grow.

"(Y/... (Y/n... (Y/n)? (Y/n)! What's wro—"

Ignoring anyone that called after me, I sprinted out of the room, and after where I saw Haruka-san go. She couldn't have gotten very far in the time it took me to get here.

"Haruka! Haruka-san! Haruka?"

I tried calling her name, but I couldn't see her. "Maybe she went this way...?" Following one of the paths downwards, I heard a few distant sniffles that made my eyes widen. Maybe that was Haruka! Chasing after the direction they were coming in, I ended up above an empty field. I took a deep breath. "Okay (Y/n). You can do this. But what if it isn't Haruka-san...? But it's still someone crying! I need to help." Gaining confidence, I called out. "Haruka-san? Is that you?" There was a muffled voice, before I heard a reply.

"(Y/n)-san? Why are you here?"

Relieved, I ran in the direction of it, past a few tress and to where I saw Haruka. "Haruka! You're okay!" Happy to see her, I ran towards her figure. I forgot to take into account that the grass is slightly wet and I'm the most clumsiest person I know though, so I ended up tripping and falling to my knees. That didn't stop me though, as I got up and ran to my friend. "Haruka-san! Why'd you run out of class like that! I was really worried!" Her eyes widened quite a bit, as she opened her mouth to speak. "You came running out of class for me? You'll get told off! (Y/n)-san we've got to go and tell your teac—" I just smiled at her as she voiced some of her concerns for me. "There's no need to be worried for me. I'll sort something out. I came out here for you Haruka. I wanted to help you. So... Let's talk about you!" She gave me a sad smile and turned her attention back to her feet in front of her. "Were those people making fun of you again Haruka-san?" She just nodded, another sniffle coming out of her mouth. "They were accusing me of not being able to play piano again. Saying that it must be a fluke that I made it in here and that someone must've wrote Tomo-chan's song in the recording test. They said I shouldn't be here and that it's favouritism that I'm still actually here. Maybe it's true though... Maybe at this rate I'm not cut out for this..." Her voice wavered at the end, showing how upset she really was. I shook my head in disagreement.
