Once my plane landed and I knew there was no returning at this point as I walk through the airport. The security wasn't too bad. When I was younger, it used to scare the crap out of me. As I got older it didn't bother me as much anymore. Mainly because my older brother had to travel so much. Owen Joyner. Yes. The goofy, blonde headed, twenty year old who acts like a twelve year old, was my older brother. I pick on him all the time about how i'm the normal one out of us two. Owen had been sent to California to start film on a new Tv series called Julie and The Phantoms. It was a musical series and I knew Owen would be a perfect fit. We always had music around us, whether we were listening to it or singing or dancing. I was put in dance classes as soon as I was able to stand on two legs.
"Rosie!" I hear Owen call behind me. He was the only one that calls me by that name when I preferred to go by Mila. He claimed it made him different from everyone else. I smile once I see him and drop my stuff, running over to give him a huge hug. He hugs me back and squeezes me harder than I expect him too. "Owennnn." I whine once I feel him. He chuckles and let's go of me. He walks over to grab my stuff for me. "Why California actually taught you some manners?" I ask, placing my hand on my heart. He glares at me and rolls his eyes. "I'm being a good bro. Now let's go before I change my mind and leave you here." He says, nudging me before starting to walk. I laugh softly and catch up to walk beside him. We walk to his car together and I sit in the passenger seat. He turns the car on and I immediately grab at his phone to play music. He snatches it from me. "We're not listening to your sappy love songs." He says, pointing at me. "But.." I pout and give him my best puppy dog eyes, knowing he couldn't resist it because he was my bestfriend and big brother. He sighs and hands me his phone. I giggle in victory, laying back into the seat. I scroll through all of his playlists. Finally I find a good ole fashion, high-school musical song. He looks at me. I grin at him which makes him chuckle softly. I start singing and he begins to sing along with me. I knew he couldn't fight the musical side of him.
We arrive at the apartment he had been using to stay in while filming so he wouldn't have to use a hotel. "Okay, just warning you now.. my roommates and friends might be here." Owen says and takes out his keys to unlock the door. "Ah perfect, cute boys." I say to mess with him before taking the keys and unlocking the door to step inside. His jaw drops but he follows me inside. I knew it wasn't his apartment. It was his friend Charles? Or Charlie? He had told me multiple times but my memory was absolutely terrible. His cast mate had moved from Canada, I remembered that much, and moved into a small apartment in California to work on as many projects he could.
"Charlie!" Owen calls from beside me. That's his name. Charlie. I smile and looks around the apartment. You could definitely tell boys stayed here. The kitchen looks like it had been ransacked by Sasquatch or a bear. Loud footsteps come from down the hall before a guy steps into the living room. My words seem to get caught in my throat. I had seen pictures of Charlie before on Owens snapchat stories or instagram or sometimes in his occasional live but in person, this man was beautiful. He stood in just a pair of grey sweatpants with no shirt. His brunette hair was a bit longer than a few earlier pictures Owen had sent me from the very first beginning of filming. We kind of just sat there and stared at each other.
"Since you guys clearly don't know how to do it.." Owen says, grabbing my hand and dragging me closer to him. "Charlie, this is Mila-Rose. Just call her Mila if you want to keep your life. Mila, this is Charlie." Owen introduces us and places my hand inside of Charlie's. Charlie smiles softly and shakes my hand gently. "It's very nice to meet you, Mila." He says softly. Even his voice was perfect. How was this possible. How could someone's voice be just as attractive as their face.
"It's nice to meet you.." I say quietly, smiling at his because it's very contagious. I realize we're still holding hands and take mine away. Owen rolls his eyes at me. "Sorry about the mess. I was just about to clean up." Charlie says, walking over to the dryer to grab a shirt out of it. I didn't see the point of it as his shirt still didn't have sleeves on it. Not that I minded of course. "Don't worry about it, Shes family." Owen says, placing his arm on top of my head. I close my eyes briefly and push his arm away. Charlie smiles at us and nods. "The guest room is down the hall." Owen tells me. I reach over to grab my bags but Charlie beats me to it. "You don't have to.." I tell him but he simply shakes his head and walks down the hall to the guest room. I smile to myself before following him. This was gonna be pretty fun.
