Chapter 5

*buzzzz-buzzzz*

I bite awake and moan to the unwelcome awaking. I stretch on over to the corner table, as to where my phone is. I open up my phone and notice Skips text. He’s said that I go to the same school as Luke and Jai so Beau will be picking me up at 8:30am. It’s already 7:45! I hurry out of bed and start getting ready.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I pick up my bag, and rush to where Mom and Dad are to say goodbye!

“Liv, how’re you getting to school? You don’t know where you’re going! You need a lift! We’ll take you and make sure you settle in? We need to fill out the forms as well.” They frantically rush around, collecting all these files and usher me out.

“Mom, Dad! Chill I’m getting a lift from Beau!” They look at me confused, and just at that moment a car pulls up with 3 lads inside. “That's him! Look you guys can go up, but I’m just going with these guys.” I can see Dad looking cautious already. The fact that I’m getting into a car with boys makes him feel uneasy. I kiss them both and run down to the car. Luke’s sat in the back, so I scoot up next to him.

“Are you ready?” Beau leans back and I nod in response. I wave out the window and he pulls away from the front of my house. Beau parks up by the curb and we all swarm out of the car. Beau calls Jai and Luke back, and they trade words among themselves. Jai and Luke step back and turn to me. “See you later ‘Liv!” Beau shouts, but he drives away too fast for me to respond. I follow Luke and Jai through the crowds of students and they take me inside of the school. I follow them down the bustling corridors and we come to a desk.

“Okay, so you sign in here and you’ll be given your timetable for the day, and the combination to your locker” Jai states. I’ve never had a locker before. Back in England, you had to carry all of your possessions around. But truth be told, I’m looking forward to having one.

“Can I help you Miss?” The secretary says from behind her desk.

“Hi, I’m new here. My parents enrolled me here. My name is Olivia Grace Roberts.” I feel my face flare up, I hate it when I have to mention my full name, it sounds really posh - something I'm not.

“Olivia Grace Rob- Ah, here we are!” She pulls out some papers and I notice that Jai and Luke are getting bored of the wait. I turn back around, and she hands me two pieces of paper. “Okay so this sheet is your locker information. The location of your locker and the combination. And this paper tells you your timetable for the day. You’ll have to send your parents in soon so they can sign a few papers, but other than that, enjoy your first day. Oh and Luke, you have some similar lessons to Olivia, so could you stay with her for a week, and make sure she gets around?” We walk a few paces away from the desk and Luke takes the piece of paper from my hand.

“Locker 573! Geez, you’re really far away from us! But don’t worry I’ll take you there now.” I follow Luke down the corridors, and along the way I receive a few dodgy looks. By now, Jai’s left because he’s in a different lesson. We turn up to a locker and I input my code to allow me access. I unload the things I don’t need and turn to Luke, who’s talking to a bunch of girls. Well so much for being there to look after me. I walk off, and pull the now crumpled sheet from my pocket. Biology. I don’t mind biology; it’s quite easy, so in all honesty I’m quite looking forward to it! I study the room number and look at each door as I pass on by, but none of them are showing any luck. I stop in the middle of the corridor.

“Are you okay?” Someone says from behind me. A girl is stood there, and she just looks at me in confusion. “I take it you’re new here?”

“Yeah, I’m new, and I’m lost. I’m meant to be in biology, but I can’t find my way. If I had a map, I’d be fine. But this place is fairly large.” I smile at her, and I notice her jaw drop.

“Oh my fucking God, your accent is amazing.”

“Thank you” I smile back.

“No problem! And biology is this way. And yeah this place is big. Do you not have a guide with you?” She walks the way I came, which means we’re going back to Luke.

“I should do, but obviously girls are more important to him. My names Olivia Roberts by the way” I say, catching up with her.

“Oh hey Olivia! My names Gemma. And yeah this place is kind of like that.” We go up some a few flights of stairs, and we turn up outside an empty room. “Okay so this is the biology room. The lesson should be starting soon, so I’ll leave you to it. If you need any further help throughout the day, I’ll be in the cafeteria with some mates. Feel free to join.” She walks away too soon for me to respond. I open the door and enter the cold, quiet classroom. I look around, and each desk is set out with practical equipment. A woman walks out of a tiny room that looks like a supply closet.

“Hello there. You must be the new student! My names Mrs. Marco and I’m your biology teacher. If you’d like to take a seat at this desk, because the lessons going to begin soon” She smiles at me and places a hand on my shoulder. I sit down in the corner of the room and wait anxiously, alone. Shortly, students file in one by one, and all took a seat at a desk.

“Where was you!?” A voice says, panting. I look up and Luke's stood there, gasping for air. He sits down next to me and just looks at me. “I ran all through the school just looking for you, I got scared! I thought you were lost!” I start laughing and he nudges me. “It’s not funny! I’m meant to be your guardian, I could’a got into some deep shit if you got lost!”

“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! But you left me at my locker and I was afraid I was going to be late for lesson” I say, still laughing.

“I didn’t leave you, I was just talking to some people” he nudges me again and I just smile and shake my head.

It’s the end of school, and for a first day; It went pretty well. I wanted to find Gemma at lunch, but I was kind of forced to sit with Luke and Jai, and their mates. I walk out of school and notice Beau’s car parked up. I run over.

“Hey Beau!” I open the car door, and hop on into the front.

“Hey Liv, how was it?” he asks.

“It was alright I suppose I got lost a few times, which wasn’t to satisfying, but Luke shown me around.”

“Oh, well that's cool then. By the way, you do know Jai’s going to be well pissed that you’re in the front.”

“Why?”

“Because, Jai calls shotgun all the time. But you got here first, so if he starts sulking, he has to get through me. So don’t worry about it” He winks at me and I smile back to him, and look out the window. I don’t know why, but I feel awkward around Beau. I mean after what he said to me on the first day, I don’t know it’s just left me weird? The boys come running over the school grounds, and they pile into the back. Jai looks at me, narrow eyed. I just smile, cheekily to him and he scrunches up his nose.

We all talk on the way home, mainly about Daniel and I. We turn up at my house, and Beau turns off the ignition obvious to say they’re all coming in, even though there was no invitation. Luke and Jai exit the car, leaving just me and Beau.

“Oh, so are you guys coming in I take it?” I smirk, and he just looks at me cheekily.

“It seems that way doesn’t it.” He unbuckles his seat belt, and his next action takes me by surprise. He reaches over to my seat belt and unbuckles me then leans some more and opens my door. I just sit there awkwardly, and Beau is still leaning over me. The smell of his cologne catches onto my senses, and he smells amazing. He leans back out. “There you go ‘Liv” I look at him, and his face is inches away from mine. I don’t know what to say. I get out of the car, and lean back in.

“Thanks Beau” I wink at him, like the way he winks at me. I walk towards me house, shortly followed by Beau and I let myself in along with Luke and Jai. I introduce my Dad to the boys and he doesn’t seem to be hesitant to meet the boys.
