After the subway incident, we found a way to the sewers. Since that gigantic lizard would hunt us down, we decided to stay below the ground. Hoping it would not find us, however... The fact that many lives are being lost because of that monster rampaging our city remains. We have to plan a strategy to defeat it at all cost. We are soldiers, the last line of defense humanity has to survive.

"How can we fight that thing?" A trooper asks us. While we walk the sewers not knowing where to go.

"We need to find it's weakspot" I replied as I look around the walls and hearing the noise of battle echoing from above.

"We tried to kill it with everything we've got. Even our rpg's (rocket propelled gun) can't hurt it." The other troop makes a statement.

"Have you tried air support or heavy artillery?" I asked them as I begin to think what went wrong earlier.

"All of them were busy defending the refuge bases, we can't call any type of support as of now" another trooper sadly replied.

"So it's just us now... How many are remaining?" Commander asks us while he finally noticed the situation we are in.

The counts off is conducted to check our numbers and groups were separated just to see what our small army are composed off. I see the people's sad faces at the lost of our comrades in our previous battle.

"We are composed of 20 Marines, 20 Airmen, 30 infantry men, 5 engineers, 3 Radio men, 2 IT Experts, 5 special forces, 2 civilians, 1officer and 2 medics, a total of 100 sir' an officer made a report to our leader as we stood beside the rushing in the middle of the sewer tunnel.

"From 500 men, we have been reduced to a handful of small bugs" commander made a statement while looking at us intently.

"We lost also alot of medics earlier, we have a pregnant lady with us too" the officer replied as he took the pregnant young lady and her husband.

We looked at each other knowing how hard the situation will be, as we anticipate the possible events that would occur.

"Hi, may I ask how many months are you carrying the child?" I asked her politely as i assess the situation. Knowing it's possible 9 months.

"Around 9 months mam" she replied to me calmly as her husband took her hand.

As I am thinking on how to solve the matter we heard gunshots somewhere and screams from afar off. Both the commander and officer knowing the situation was now hesitant to make the move. They couldn't afford to lose any more men.

"Sir, I shall see what's going on" I told the group as I took my hand gun and about to leave.

"Hold it, you are not going, we've lost a lot of men today, I can't allow anymore casualties." The commander replied as he hold my hand.

"We need to help, that's our duty. Even to the point of giving our lives to save others." I made an encouraging statement as I took his hand off.

The commander had tears from his eyes but held back. He looks at her with a smile, then waves a hand to his trroops.

"Ok then, I want 20 from the infantry with her." He commands his troops to assist her. As he sees her made a nod then rush to the screams. Until they are gone in the shadows.

"Sir....are you sure you want you...." The officer asks him but is stopped by the commander from speaking by making a hand signal.

"Keep it secret.... Pls" the commander told the officer.

Meanwhile....

"Open fire!" I command my group to strike the enemies that where attacking the civilians. Killing them all one by one in succession following my lead.

We continue our approach as we shoot them pressing on againts them. Humanlike aliens and 4 legged beasts with guns aiming at the civilians.

"5 men rescue the civilians now!" I give a quick instruction as I fire at one alien at a time aiming at their heads.

5 of my troops surrounded 20 civilians protecting them at every corner. While I press on to kill the remaining enemies with my troops.

Suddenly....

The last enemy pulled the little girl to the waters using it's tentacle drowning her. I rushed in to rescue the girl as she was drowning. I swim deeper down, chasing the girl then as reached my knife cutting the tentacle from her. Pulled the girl away as I swim back up to surface.

I placed her at the floor, check her vitals, I noticed she isn't breathing no pulse, no rise and fall of chest, I checked her airway, then started to make CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) pressing her chest in rhythm 5 times. 1, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004,1005. Then placed my mouth at her mouth. Injecting air to her lungs from my lungs 2 times. Check for any signs of breathing. I made the same procedure 3 times as the people watch me saving the girl, praying and crying.

Finally the girl coughed out the water from inside her. I turned her to side lying as I tap her back. I check the pulse, breathing and chest movements. There are all present, everyone was so happy.

The commander and his army arrived as we help the remaining survivors. I felt releived we rescued them in time.

"Great job medic, you did well." The commander tapped my shoulder as he commended me and the group.

"We're  just doing my duty sir" I replied as I look at him.

His face resembles someone I really love so much...
