We walked around the sewers in search for a safe place to stay for awhile. Knowing the fact that our pregnant companion might give birth soon.

I can't ignore the ressemblance between the  commander's face and my beloved. I often look at him secretly when he wasn't looking at us. As I look at him intently, he would notice it then suddenly would to me with a smile. He is like a brave lion with a father's heart.

"Sir we found a room, it's seems safe." A troop reports us  from scouting the sewers together with 2 men.

"Let's go there and take a rest for awhile" the commander told us.

We went in to the place the scout lead us into. Then took rest from our long walk while others are replenishing the supplies they found in the room. Others are fixing the equipment and other men guarding the door.

Then out of the blue...

"Micha...come here" the commander called me. My body went cold and my heart beats faster than usual. He might ask me why I am looking at him or question me about my defying act earlier to save the survivors. How did he knew my other nick name?

I approached him then sitter beside him as took out a wallet with a picture of a boy and another picture of a family.

"You remember...what you said earlier?"he asks me calmly.

I nodded as I begin to listen to him, wanting to know the answer to an unanswered question.

"Those are the very words of my beloved son" he begins to narrate his story. As I recognize a familiar face from the photo.

"He always says it's our duty to protect the people. He also said to me not to think selfishly. My poor Cyon, where could you have been?" The commander speaks to me as he look down the floor.

As I heard the name of my beloved, I am overcome with grief. Realizing... It's his father right now beside me. No wonder why they ressemble so much.

"For years my lady....I've been searching for him. Not until this year that I finally found him and we talked to each other as a father to a son." He narrates further as I listen more.

"As soon as I heard the news of the situation in your University. I rushed in hear to find him . But there were a lot of people to save and alot of places to recover from our enemy." He took out a recent photo of them together as he talks more of their past.

I remained silent as I listen to him, hoping he would not ask the whereabouts of his son.

But...

"Micha, have you seen him? How is he?" He asks me which made my body cold. I begin to think if I would lie or just tell him the plain truth.

For years they have been separated then just got reunited this year. Only to...

"Daughter....tell me honestly. What happened to him?" He asks me calmly. The officer sitting nearby look at me sadly. This gives me a hint that the officer already knew. He gives a nod telling me I should tell him the truth.

"Sir...he is" I tried to speak but I suddenly stopped as  an earthquake occured out of nowhere.

"Hide in the tables!" I gave an order as the cabinets and other stuff starting to stumble off.

Glasses breaking off and of all times. A sharp pole fell on one of the civilians legs. The earthquake stopped, as the people are still hiding in the tables. I rushed in to an injured person with the sharp pole.

The person quickly pulled the pole out of her leg in intense pain, causing it to bleed. So I quickly made a Tourniquet her wound. The little girl came in quickly with a clean cloth to apply pressure to the injured sight.

"Good girl, keep it closed" I thank the girl whom I saved earlier. Who is now helping me save this young lady's life.

Another medic check her vital signs from temperature to blood pressure. Breathing and pulse. She quickly looks at me, signalling something is wrong.

"Mam Mich, her blood pressure is dropping. Its around 70/40mmhg and her pulse is hardly palpable." She notifies me with our patient's situation.

"Prepare intravenous therapy, she is loosing alot of blood." I took the IV kit from my bag pack to quickly prepare the equipment.

"Stay with me girl, were gonna make it." I give her assurance as I find her blood vessel at her right hand. I disinfect it with betadine then alcohol then took a Butterfly needle to insert an IV Line.

My partner medic covered the wound quickly as i connect the tube to an IV bag. The girl took a  stand  as I hook the IV bag to it.
We checked her blood pressure which gladly returned to 120/80mmhg with a palpable pulse at her left wrist.

"Great job, you 2 must stay here. And teach the others on first aid, and sir can I have a minute?" I commended the team with me as I asked one of the special forces with us.

"Yes mam, how can help?" He replied as the people are now fixing the room.

"Teach them how to fight" I asked him as I prepare my equipment.

He looked at the commander which made a nod signalling "It's ok".

"Gladly my lady" he replied as he makes a salute.

"What's your plan Daughter?" Commander asks me as he prepares his equipments.

"We need to find a safer place, we could get trapped here and die if we stay. We have higher chances of living in the surface.

The people agreed on my suggestion as we prepare to leave.

"And sir..... Cyon is dead." I answered his father with a sad face.
