HYPOTHERMIA (part 1: Prayer before Battle

The commander felt the grief in his heart as he heard the news from me that his son was now dead. I heard him crying silently so I approached my supposedly father in law and hugged him while he cried.

"Sir, he is a brave man he fought along side me and my friend at the start of this war. He is as strong as you." I spoke to him gently as I start to cry in tears.

"Daughter, that's because he took it the hard way..."he replied as he stood then urged me to walk with him in a distance while the group is walking in the tunnels.

"Tell me how he died"he asks me another question as he look at me with a calm but sad face

At the question he said to me, I started to become hesitant to answer his inquiry. Knowing it might hurt him further.

"Tell me daughter, don't worry" he assures me as he wants me to tell him the answer.

"He was shot by a cannon that made him blew away through the wall." I replied...

"What happened then?" He asks me another question.

I am kinda hesitant , but if he insisted in knowing the truth. I had no choice but to answer.

"After the incident, ran away since there are enemies chasing me. But I see those royal ships from Venicia for no reason" I narrated the following events to him.

"Hmmm...daughter, he died a noble death. Promise me this...that you shall continue to live." He look at me like a caring father as he said this very words.

"Yes.... father." I replied as I hug him. Then made a smile.

"There's an exit, we must find a safe place to stay." He told me as he pointed out the lights shining in the exit.

"And kill the beast." I made a statement as I waved the group to follow us.

"Ouch!" A pregnant lady made a noise as a bag of water spilled from her inner thighs.

"Mam, she's in labor" the medic tells us while we made assist her.

We move out of the tunnel, but of all times....

The gigantic monster was their walking towards us. We made a run to buildings, as fighters from the sky make an air strike multiple times againts it together with attacking helicopters pushing it away from us. The beast backed off as it is pressed down.

"Sir! Shoot the mouth!" I advised our leader quickly. As I and the troops made a perimeter aiming at it with full force.

The medics and the civilians run for another building to hide with their guns in hand.

"Aim for the mouth! Fire!" The commander commanded the troops through a radio.

The monster opened it's mouth as it about to fire a glowing plasma. Fighters made an Airstrikes simultaneously at it. Next the helicopters fire their rockets all together.

"Marching fire!" The commander made a signal for us to shoot our weapons all out with the fire power we have at hand while moving forward.

The monster's mouth blew tremendously that it stumbled before standing up. Its eyes fired red beams at the air fighters and helicopters altogether. Which blew to pieces and fell towards us.

"Retreat!" I said to the troops as I realized we can't win this war againts him.

But....

"Hold your horses!" The commander screamed.

"Daughter, go with a few men to the survivors. Keep them safe and you must help her deliver the baby." He gives me instructions as he held my arms looking at me as a leader.

"But...."I protested.

"Your promise..." He reminds me as he placed something in my hand then enclosed it tight..

I finally nodded then with 10 infantry men we rushed to the survivors.

"Today, it's an honor fighting with you gentlemen...

"Guns shall explode!

"Shields shall be broken!

"Blades bath in blood!

"Not for our personal gain!

"Not for our own pride!

"But for the people living!

"For our next generation!

"For our mother Earth!

"It's our sworn duty!

"As God's mighty army!

"To defend the defenseless and enforce peace with justice!"

"Hoooorahhhhh!" The entire army with him in that situation made a battlecry.

"God, I pray to have mercy and help me fight this evil to death!" The commander prayed as unsheath his sword, holding it in right hand, and a pistol with his left hand.
