The new paladins were off, looking for the other lions of Voltron. While Shiro and Pidge were on a lush jungle like planet, which somehow became a relaxing canoe ride down the river, Lance and Hunk weren't doing so hot.
"Hang on!" The girl says as she swerves, Hunk screaming and rambling in panic behind her. When the two had arrived they were almost immediately attacked by galra forces who were already on the planet. As fighters chased them, Lance does a nose dive into the canyon, where they come upon a galran mining base.
"According to the coordinates, we're right on top of the Yellow Lion." Hunk says with a groan while looking at a device Coran gave him to track the said lion. "It's down there, where they're mining the planet ore." He adds, the Blue Lion's holo screen zooming in on the spot.
"They don't even know the lion is there. Or maybe they just got here and they're digging for the lion? What do you think, Lance?" He rambles then asks his friend.
"Who cares? We're going in!" The girl replies then announces and nose dives. "I'm gonna drop you down there, so you got to go in and get it." She explains.
"Wait, what? Me? Down there? Oh no, no way man." The boy responds.
"Yes, I'll cover you. So get going you big baby!" The girl says back and proceeds to dive and fly across the surface, then drops Hunk out of Blue and turns to face the incoming enemy so the boy can get the lion.
As more fighters begin flying towards her, she quickly takes off and fights them. She manages to destroy most of them, but then realized she had left Hunk open, so she quickly flies back towards him shooting the rest of the fighters. However, when she blasts one, it launches a missile heading straight for the cave.
"Hunk!" She cries as the missile hits the entrance. "No... I can't believe I let this happen!" She shouts in frustration her teeth gritting from her anger. Blue growls, concerned for her Paladin. "Dammit! This is exactly what you told not to do!" She thought, but was snapped back to reality when Blue is hit by an enemy laser.
She growls and tries to avoid the onslaught while retaliating. Unfortunately, the fighters manage to knock her and Blue down, and corner them by the destroyed cave entrance, where one fighter launches a missile at her. She prepares for the impact, when, from the ground itself, came Hunk piloting Yellow as they block the attack, then destroy the fighters.
"Lance, you okay?" Asks her best friend.
"Hunk... Oh, thank goodness you're alive! I thought I'd lost you. Thank you for jumping in to save me." The girl says gratefully and the boy's image appears.
"Well, actually, I was trying to get out of the way. Thankfully, what Yellow may lack in speed, she makes up for it in her armor." He says back.
"Whatever, you saved my life either way." The girl says then Allura appears.
"Paladins! I can't keep the wormhole open much longer! You need to hurry!" The alien princess urges.
"You heard her man, let's get out of here." The brunette girl says, just as another wave of fighters start flying in. With that, the two took off and fly towards the wormhole. They manage to get to it just in time before it closes.
"Yes! We made it through!" Lance cheered.
"Ohhh... I think I'm going to be sick again." Hunk groans.
"Don't throw up in your lion like you did in mine." The girl sighs and the two fly back to the castle to rejoin the others. They make it back and both groan as they enter the bridge.
"You made it." Allura said happily when she sees them.
"Barely, that was a nightmare. I almost threw up like Hunk." Lance moans in reply.
