Chapter 5: The 'Foster' house

It wasn't sure about my plan with Novel, but surprisingly things are getting our way. Until the eldest female in the room spoke...

"Mr. McAllister how nice of you to come by."

'oh sh*t!'

"Hello, kids. How are you doing?"  McAllister said.

"We're fine." Novel replied

"That's great, I have a question Miss Raine. May I ask if you and Erin are alright?"

"...Callister..something, does it concern you?" The girl responded in a annoyed tone.

"Miss Raine, kindly tell me the problem and we can sort it out. I've heard from the Alioth siblings that you were quite rude after storming out of the cafeteria. And we can't have that here."

'callister' said a calm manner. Raine was just staring at the floor, most likely thinking of an answer to 'callister'.

"Fine, what do you want?"

"An answer. And nothing else."

"Really? Then...it's just that.."
She looked at me dead in the eyes, with a face full of hate. Then she started to sob (real ones unlike Novel's).

"He..he rejected me..." She answered while between hiccups.

"Oh, is that true Mr. Newton?" He asked me.

"No..." I said without thinking

"....it isn't! T-this scenario was from years ago!" I try to cover it up with a lie.

"So you have met beforehand, and had this conversation? Can you tell me more about it?"

"No, we can't." I responded.

He stood eyeing me and Raine back and forth. Creating more suspicion in his face.

"I think you should let them be, Mr. McAllastair. That is their discussion, it's up to them to do the next right thing." The mother spoke.

"Yes, and we must be going." The father also spoke. He put his hands on my shoulder and Raine's pushing us to the direction of the door. We didn't resist because we wanted to get out of there. The mother also did the same with Novel and her son.

And we were in the adopter's car in a blink of an eye. Everyone sighed. Then the car started and we were on our way. Me, Raine and Novel sat together in the middle row of the car...oh and the other kid too.

"Umm...hey what's-what's your name?" I asked looking at him.

"Oh right! I haven't introduced myself! Hi I'm-

"He's Edward Foster"
Wow, I can't believe Raine cut him off, that was real rude.

"Are you angry at him? I asked her."

"No, at you."

"Why? We already got out of there, ALIVE."

"What do you mean?" Raine and Edward's voices echoed.

"What do you think I mean?"
I look at both of them, turning my head left to right because Raine was positioned to the right window and Edward was on the left.

And...Raine face palmed when I look in front of her. Good for her Novel was on my left, she could easily talk to my ear. Which she did.

"Don't you know what I'm doing?"
Then I realized...

"Ohhhh yeahhhhh..." We aren't supposed to be obvious when we're inters.
I forgot to mention that Novel was asleep at this moment. He was most likely still awake after midnight.
