Emily
It's One Direction's 11th Anniversary.
What the fuck.
And guess what? They just now told me that I'll be watching them, in the flesh, do their reunion.
Yes. A fucking reunion. When they broke the news to me a few weeks ago, I was freaking out. And when they announced it on social media a few days ago, the internet broke. Fans were breaking down, their accounts were blowing up the whole shebang. But here's the catch. They didn't mention Zayn joining them. So once James Corden says his name, the audience, where I will be seating in the front row, will just go wild.
We were currently in L.A. and the lads were getting ready in their dressing room while I wait in the audience area. We were using The Late Late Show's studio and their reunion would last about a few hours so it's going to be like 1D Day but a few hours short and with a crowd watching.
I was lead to a seat in front of the interview area by a producer. A few fans recognized me and said hi to me excitedly. I waved a little hand at them, causing them to squeal earning a lot more fans to turn to me. I sat down, checking my phone, seeing that there were only a few minutes left before they go live.
"Uhm, hi, Emily?" I heard someone say. I looked up, facing a girl around my age holding her phone close to her chest. I smiled "Yes?"
"Hi. Uh, sorry I've already said that" she giggled awkwardly. I chuckled shaking my head, "No, it's okay, breathe hun, take your time. Can I ask what your name is?" I asked her, noticing that she was shaking. She smiled at me. "Hannah. Is it okay if I take a picture with you?" she asked. I nodded, standing up so she can take a selfie. I placed my hands on her shoulder as we smiled at the camera. She turned to me with a huge smile on her face "Thank you so much, Emily. I loved you on the Peculiars, I hope you guys do another season," Hannah told me.
"Oh, well Hannah, you better look out for that," I cheekily said. Her eyes widened "Wait really?" I laughed and placed a finger on my lips. "Shh. It's our little secret," I said, winking at her. She giggled hugging me. I hugged back and she pulled away. "Again, thank you so much," I smiled at her warmingly. "Of course, thank you as well,"
She went away to go back to her seat, in time for the show. A producer called out signaling that they were about to go live. I sat back down, feeling my phone vibrate. I pulled it out seeing that someone tweeted at me.
@hannahbanana: HOLY CRAP I JUST MET AND TALKED TO EMILY
I laughed, reading the next one.
@hannahbanana: Thank you so much @emily_vergara you were so nice and kind. Thanks for putting up with my weirdness hahaha ily so much!
@emily_vergara: It was my pleasure @hannahbanana. Hope to see you again soon. Oh and don't worry, I consider myself weird as well, I mean we're a little bit weird arent we? Love you! ;)
I turned off my phone just to ignore the many notifications. There had been multiple times that I had encountered fans and so far they were all quite calm and collected. The lads had been teasing me about the encounters because they liked seeing me interact with fans. I on the other hand hate it when they talk about it. It's all quite still new and weird to me. But I'll probably get used to it but right now, I would rather not talk about them.
I saw that the cameraman was started to countdown. James was already on stage, sitting on his chair, going through the cards that he was holding for the first part of the show. He opened the show with a short opening monologue. We laughed and cheered until it was time for him to call out the boys. Now I know I'm here as a friend to support them but my inner fangirl is trying to come out.
