Obviously I arrived at the Room of Requirement before Potter. It wasn't a surprise that the Gryffindors decided against trusting me to set up the game, Salazar forbid they trust a snake not to cheat. Of course, they weren't wrong. I did try to guarantee I'd get the partner I preferred.
Blaise had figured this out and of course wanted in, but the deck was charmed against cheating. Don't ask me about the science of it (it is magic after all), but our attempts to assure that we'd get our desired partner were fruitless.
As I waited for Scarhead, I pondered who I might get as my partner if I can't make my own choice. Would the game randomly pair us up? Or does the magic of the cards know who our best match will be? If that was the case, Assandra and I would of course be partners, right?
I really should know more about this, seeing as playing the game was my idea in the first place, but it wasn't like these things were in the rule book.
I knew if I did get Assandra as my partner, she wasn't one to move fast. After years of teasing and taunting in school, she'd have to be persuaded. If either of us got a card that demanded something sexual for the very first round, she'd forfeit both of us before the game even started. I could also guess that she wasn't one for cheesy romance. You'd have to charm her first, of course, but after that's done she definitely would not want a heart-shaped bed covered in rose petals.
I had some ideas about what the rest of my teammates would fill their cards with, none of which were a good option for the first round if Assandra was indeed my partner.
Tearing me from my thoughts, Potter walked up to our designated meeting spot.
"Malfoy," Harry said in a type of greeting.
"Potter. Let's get this started, shall we?"

Ginny and I were in our dorm with Hermione an hour before the game to get ready.
Harry should currently be setting up the game with Malfoy, the poor boy.
We went to Diagon Alley earlier today to buy our dresses, leading up to now, Ginny and Hermione anxiously waiting outside the bathroom door for me to unveil the finished look. I smoothed my hands over my waist, then my stomach, the gold bracelets on my wrists slightly jangling with the motion. A small gold chain hung around my neck, almost as tight as a choker, but danging just below the edge between my neck and chest. I was wearing a simple, short, tight red velvet dress, and the creases where my body curved shined as the light hit it, accentuating my figure. The deep red complimented my paler complexion, the short sleeves hugging my arms and exposing my shoulders, and I carried a small black handbag. The handbag matched my heels, which I specifically chose so that my feet wouldn't be destroyed by the end of the night. I wore a small bit of deep brown eye shadow to accentuate my crease, and over it was my eyeliner, winging out to elongate my eyes. The rest of the look was punctuated by a tinted lip gloss, making my lips just slightly darker. My dark brown hair was in very loose curls, flowing down my back, ending just as my shoulder blades did. I sighed, turned around and stepped out of the bathroom, ready to face the game that very well could be my doom.
Hermione and Ginny gasped when I came out, throwing compliments at me and I accepted them, allowing myself to ignore the pit in my stomach for just a minute. Hermione wore a very light green satin dress with thin spaghetti straps, ending just above her knees- she was very determined to avoid the deep, Slytherin green, but it was a very good thing as this color complimented her complexion perfectly. She wore a small silver necklace and a silver ring as well, matching the cool tone of her dress. Matching her jewelry, her sandals were silver with a half-inch heel and open-toed, the straps on the shoes wrapping around her ankles. She had on very little makeup, just a light brown eye shadow, mascara and lip gloss. Her tamed curly hair was down, except the parts above her ears that she had pinned up with silver clips, still leaving some bits out to frame her face. Ginny's dress was slightly more elaborate than both me or Hermione's; it was black with spaghetti straps, ending above her knees. There was a silver embroidered design: stemming from the right strap of the dress towards the center was a large vine, smaller vines with leaves and flowers spreading from it. Her fiery hair was straight, tumbling off her shoulders as it normally does. She wore silver bangles to match the color of the embroidery, plus a silver necklace with a small light blue stone hanging from it. Both Hermione and Ginny really were stunning, the definition of enticing and seductive, but still maintaining their dignity.
