Can I see you?

Where is everyone, where did they all go,
One minute there's too many, and then another, there's too few,
When did everything start to change,
When did the fish start to fade,
I thought we were one, so why are we two,
When did the ones who reigned, start to fall,
Weren't we the same, that twin of mine,
So when did we crack, like a broken heart,
I thought we would always be together,
So why are we apart,
The pain is too much, the heart wreaks of hurt, far too often than should,
Everything from the memories, photos, voices,
Were they all just a ploy,
Or did you feel the same as I,
I miss you, far more than what the tear shows,
What the soul of steel has come to be,
What the memories from the past, passed and faded, has come to shape,
Do you remember them,
Playing around under the stars, thinking of all the possibilities far too impossible for us to hold,
Do you remember the nights where we would just lay around, enjoying the comfort of one another just being there,
Alive, and right there,
I wish we could go back to those days,
But all good thing must come to an end at one point or another don't they,
But even if they do, can't we decide that fate,
So can you come back,
I need you here, I don't know if I can survive,
It's all just too much,
For one person to hide.
