Yoongi's POV
"Mr. Min, Kelis isn't dilating very well. She has been in labor for about 15 hours already and is only three centimeters. We can safely wait another two or three hours but if there is no more progress, you will need to consider a c-section." The whole time he is talking I feel like a bobblehead toy. Just nodding my head as he speaks but not truly understanding everything he is saying. "Great, I will have the Anesthesiologist come up and give her an epidural to make her more comfortable. It will also help if she has to have surgery." I prayed that she would not need to have a c-section, but she and I have already discussed it. I will do whatever is safest for her and the babies and if I need to choose between her and the boy I choose the boys. She was very clear that no matter what, I save the boys. The doctor interrupts my thought with more of his stressful ass information. "Just a heads up. If she delivers naturally only yourself and one other person can be in the room, and only you if she has surgery. Do you have any questions?" I shake my head and run my hands thru my hair.
Now I not only need to get Kelis prepared to have a needle place in her back. Actually, in her spine and she can't move or she risks being paralyzed. I am not sure if that is the fun part or if telling the rest of the family only one other person can be in the delivery room. I pay am paying a lot of money to this hospital, why can't one of them deliver this news. Well, I guess it's like ripping off a band-aid.
Walking back into the hospital room I just spit it out. "You will all need to leave the room when the anesthesiologist arrives. The doctor is concerned that Kelis is not dilating fast enough. So if she has to have surgery no one is allowed in the room but me. If everything goes well I can have one other person in here with me. I would like Mom to come but if you don't want to you guys can decide who wants to." My mother smiles and accepts. Everyone nods even though I can tell some are less than happy, but no one is going to challenge her place. After a visit or two from our nurse, the anesthesiologist comes in and clears the room.
"OK Mrs. Min I know this is going to be uncomfortable, but I need you to lean forward like your and touching your toes. It is very important, you must not move while I am getting the needle in." He looks directly at her as he speaks. He seems to be reading her facial expressions as her talks to her. Good, that means he is aware of her fear of needles.
I get on Kelis's left and her nurse gets on the right. We each hold a hand and assist her in her leaning. Once she is in a position that is comfortable for her, the nurse tells the doctor that she can not bend down any further. He then climbs up on the bed behind her and opens her gown. "The first thing you are going to feel is a sharp pinch. That is the shot to numb the prior to the epidural." He nods to me and the nurse and we add just a little pressure on her back.
The man has to be the best anesthesiologist ever. He was done in no time at all. It took him longer to explain the process than to perform it. She was laying down when the rest of the family came in. Everyone is asleep ten minutes later. Her doctor comes in and taps me on the shoulder and lets me know it is time to clear the room. After that everything was a blur. I was scrubbed up and changed into disposable scrubs and shoe covers. She was also prepped and ready to go when I walked to the operating room.
It went so fast. I was scrubbed and changed into a disposable gown, hair net, gloves, and shoe covers. When I make it into the surgery room, she is already on the table ready to go with a strategically placed mirror so we can watch if we want to. Kelis is awake and my only job is to make sure she stays that way by talking to her. "How are you feeling, Angel?" Kelis looks out of it almost sleepy.
"I can feel them doing something down there. Can you see what they are doing over there?" Her eyes begin to move around but she can't see because of the sheet. There is a mirror placed so she could see if she just looked up. I look up to the mirror. I can see that they have already made the cut and are separating her skin. It is simultaneously beautiful and disturbing. I have no intention of telling her that though.
"They are doing their job Love and delivering our babies. Do you feel any pain?" I know she will feel something but the doctor swore no pain. If she feels pain so will he. I already made it clear his life is on the line and so is his family. He laughed and said he heard that all the time, but he immediately stopped when he realized that I was serious. I have faith in his ability to do his job well, if for no other reason to stay breathing.
It was quiet for a while, all you can hear was the team moving around doing their thing. They moved like a well-oiled machine. They barely even spoke as they moved. The doctor holds out his hand and a tool appears in it. The next thing sound I hear is the tiny cry of one of my babies followed by the frenzy of movement. The baby was quickly taken to be cleaned and checked out. Followed the beautiful scream of my second child. Who was also quickly rushed off in a flutter of activity.
"What's wrong, Yoongi? What are they doing to our babies?" Looking at Kelis I wipe the tears from her eyes. She is also wiping tears from mine. We are both crying for different reasons. Kelis, because she is afraid something bad is happening. Me because I saw my boys come into this world.
"The babies are perfect Angel. You did so well. The doctors are cleaning them and checking vitals. I am sure they will bring them over here shortly." The stench of burning skin hit me as soon as I finished speaking, and I found it hard not to vomit. I managed to keep my food in my stomach, thank God.
They bring the boys over to see us as soon as she is properly closed. Right now our boys are Called Min baby A and Min baby B. We never actually agreed on names for our boys. "Why don't you name our oldest son and I will name the youngest?" Smiling at her I smile and nod like the good husband I am. I know she has been thinking about this her whole pregnancy. She motions me down to her level and whispers her choice to me. As soon as they wheel her off into recovery, I immediately know what I am going to name my oldest son.
"If you want, while Kelis is in recovery you can introduce the boys to your family," the doctor says as the nurses place the boys into their plastic bassinets. "Do you have names selected for the boys yet?" I nod, turn and smile. "Yes," I tell him and write the names down so they can place them on the bassinets.
I walk out of the room and to the waiting room. "Come on let me introduce you to the new Min boys." They all jumped up and followed me to the nursery. With smiling faces pressed against the glass, they watch the boys as one lies sleeping and the other still screaming about something. "I would like to introduce you to our newest family members. The screaming one, on the left, is Min Dae-Jung our oldest by about nine minutes. The sleeping one on the right is our youngest Min Dae-Hyun. They identical at five pounds, six ounces, and 16 inches long."
A/N: Hello beautiful people 😁 congratulations we have boys. If the internet is being nice to me and telling the truth, Dae-Jung means great and righteous, honest. And Dae-Hyun means great and honor. I like it and I hope it is right. (❤'艸`❤) Anyway, let me know how you feel about this chapter. Please vote, and comment. You know I like to hear what you think. Please take care of yourselves.
