Normally Not Normal

I wake up to my messy room, and a headache stinging at me. Don't worry I'm not sick or anything like that. This is all normal, it happens to me everyday, my mother and father say it's just morning headaches.

But I don't really think so.

I get up with my breath smelling of ginger from the ginger beer I drank the night before.

I start the day with my normal routine. I wake up, I eat, I walk, I sleep. The same routine every single day. Now, you may think it's boring and lifeless, and it is, but I really can't do anything about it, it has always been me ever since the day I was born. It's an easy lifestyle.

My mother said I was a special child, she told me that I learned things quickly, and that I matured very early. I don't exactly know what she meant by that, probably because I don't know how a "normal" person's mind works, or as I was told.

But because of my quick span of maturity and immediate growing knowledge. I didn't really have to go to school like the other kids. It has always just been me, my mother and my father. Oh! And Caleb.

Caleb is my friend, childhood friend to be specific. We're kind of the same, when I say the same, he was quick to mature as well.

Maturity is not the only thing that was special about me though, I also see things. I know freaky right? However, I get by.

But seriously, the things I see are not really something you can call ghosts, but rather demons. You may think to see a really tall lady in white with red eyes, while crying blood or something close to that, but to be completely honest, they look nothing like that.

They are way worse than you think, most people don't even have the stomach to read the way they're described. If I were to try my best to explain how they look like. This is what I see, they have white skin, with big eyes, as big as the moon, and pupils as small as ants, their horns aren't like bull horns, but rather tall and sharp goat horns, that are sharp enough to cut your skin just by passing by.

And their wings are as big and tall as two walls made of cement, every feather that makes up is as sharp as a pocket knife. And finally, the cracked faces they have that expose their inner being, for all the things I've described are not exactly them. They're very similar to crabs and shell fish.

You don't get to see their true from unless you crack the shell.

I don't let them bother me however. Plus, seeing them actually helps me keep safe and not bump into them. Ever.

I continue my day by bringing myself downstairs to eat breakfast. "How was last night this time, sweety?" My mother asked me.

"It was alright, I got to sleep for 2 hours this time, I didn't get sleep paralysis and I woke up in front of my door in the middle of the night, so I guess it was one of the best nights I've had in awhile." I explain chuckling to my mother while setting up the table.

"And the night terrors?" My father asks while fluffing his newspaper "None!" I reply as I smile.

"Aww, my baby is finally getting better." My mother adds as she squeezes my cheeks. "Ow! Mom not again." I say trying to push her hands off.

Like I said, normal. Right?

I went out to the yard of our country house to greet Caleb, the scent of the wet yard and moist soil just overflowed my nostrils, and the dew from the tree barks kept the view astonishing.

As I was preoccupied with the beautiful scenery, Caleb pops out of nowhere and destroys the mood. "Perfect timing Caleb, I was just about to slap you in the face." I snare at him

"Yeesh, harsh much girlie." He replies, laughing.

I chuckle from what he said and continue to face off into the distance, he then joins me and we start talking about random things that we remember from our 'past lives'. Caleb was a very intriguing person and very fun to be with at that. He was never hard to hang out with, and of course, he knows what I'm going through.

We continued laughing and chatting, and as I recovered from the jokes he made, the sudden change of mood he gave off called out to me. The unexpected concentration in his eyes with what was behind me, caught my attention. I thought today was going to be a normal day. It was going smoothly until...

Something is definitely not right........
