Chapter One
Amary couldn't comprehend what's happening the moment she woke up. Everything seems to be out of control dahil sa halo-halong tunog na naririnig niya. From the rustles of the leaves outside, the running water somewhere in the area, and the voice that sounded so close yet so far. She stayed still after that, trying hard to remember where she was and why she was here pero hindi gumagana ang brain cells niya sa pag recall ng kung anong nangyari, instead it wanted to let her know about something else.
Her throat was itchy and dry, her body wanted her to do something about it. Fast.
Lifting a heavy hand, Amary touched her throat with cold fingers.
Amary assessed her situation first before getting up. Hindi siya nakatali so that's a good sign, right?
Tinignan niya ang suot niya and her eyes almost blew out of their sockets when she saw herself wearing silk pajamas. I don't even own anything silk. Hanggang cotton lang ako. What the frack is this?
The windows were shut tight, but she breathed out a sigh of relief when it opened nung sinubukan niya. That was enough for her to conclude that she's not being kept here against her will. And if she is then she can easily escape through the window...
Whoever owns this house is probably well off. That's the only conclusion she could think of.
Drawing herself back, Amary inhaled in a deep breath. She ran her tongue on the roof of her mouth where her gums throbbed and ached. The sensation she felt the moment the tongue hit her teeth made her stop. Setting her lips into a grim line, she immediately felt two sharp objects lightly pierce her bottom lip.
The moment her tongue grazed the small wound, para siyang binuhusan ng malamig na tubig when the second thought that entered her mind is that gusto niya ulit itong matikman, she wanted to suck on it to draw more blood... it wasn't enough... it wasn't enough.
Amary rested her head in her hands, stepping away from the window completely. She held her hair so hard but the pain barely even registered dahil ang umiikot lang sa isip niya ngayon ang lasa ng kung anong nasa bibig niya. She wanted more. She wanted to go out and find more. Unti-unti niyang inangat ang kamay niya papalapit sa labi niya to confirm that it was real. But a simple touch wasn't enough to convince her kaya nag hanap siya ng salamin and luckily there was a small desk mirror near the TV. Agad niyang kinuha ito and opened her mouth just to be greeted by two sharp fangs.
"What the fuck!"
"After a month of sleeping the first to you say is what the fuck," a voice suddenly said. "That's interesting."
Amary whipped her head to the door where the voice came from. "Sir mawalang galang na po pero what the fuck are these?" she shrilled, showing him her fangs.
The man only smiled and entered the room, his gaze momentarily shifted to the open window before looking back at Amary. "Before I explain everything to you, can I ask you questions first Miss..."
"Amary."
The man nods. "Okay, Amary. Can you come closer?"
Amary just stared at him.
