The Valley Floor Red

(A tribute to the Martyrs of the APS Peshawar, Pakistan  incident on December 16th, 2014. One-hundred and thirty innocent students were killed mercilessly in a school by terrorists. The least I can do)

There is a cold chill in the air

My hands frozen,

there is a thrill in the air

Clouds come rushing to this land

Rain may fall tonight, and,

The river will flow again

In the valley floor red.

And,

Not a day ago

The valley was full

With blood

Of people on the hill

Who died seeing death

Eye to eye; which fill

Their hearts with fears

And my eyes with tears

And I can not bear

The valley floor red

And,

Listen

The red will wash away

When the rain falls tonight

Cry not yet

Cause all will forget

The little lives lost

In time; be happy

For they are with the Host

Of the worlds and all

Who'll make this rain fall

In the valley floor red

And

You cry

When they are forgotten

And

You try

To work life out of death

From dawn till sunset

But people forget

No hearts will burn

No lesson will they learn

No people will turn

To the valley floor red
