Needless to say, it was a restless moon that night, and now, Remus was sleeping soundly in the hospital wing.

Christy squeezed his hand, laced with her own, allowing a silent tear to trickle down her cheek.

"Hey..." Sirius soothed, "Don't cry."
"I hate seeing him like this." she whispered, "so pale and bashed up, you know?"
"I know teeny, he's a fighter though, he'll be alright."

She nodded shakily.
"Go get some air, alright?" he said, "I'll wait with him, go."
She nodded again, albeit hesitantly, before slipping out of the double doors and out into the breezy corridor.

Wrapping her robes tightly around herself, she floated through the school, allowing her mind to wander.

She remembered her eleventh birthday, receiving her Hogwarts letter, how proud her parents were.

If she could've known where she'd be five years from then...

How had things gone so wrong?

She shook herself from her daze, and found herself sat upon a window cill in an abandoned part of the castle, the wind seeping through the slit windows, sending chills down her spine.

Thoughts swarmed her mind, and she could feel the tears spilling down her cheeks, but she couldn't seem to halt the flow.

"hey." a weak voice croaked.

Her gaze snapped up, relaxing once she saw the pale but smiling figure of Remus Lupin.

"What are you doing here? You're supposed to be in the infirmary!" she cried, hastily wiping away the tears with the back of her hand.

"What's wrong?" he whispered, shuffling to sit beside her on the ledge.

"Oh nothing." she waved a hand nonchalantly, but one raised eyebrow from Remus, caused her facade to crumble.

"Why can't I just move on? I feel like i'm glued to my past, stuck in some hole. And I just can't get out." she whispered, chocking back tears. "All I do is cry."

"It's okay to cry Christy." he replied softly, "but remember this; 'It's no use going back to yesterday, because I was a different person then.' I believe you're familiar with that particular quote." he smirked.
