Chapter 20

Work had dragged. I wanted to be home and getting ready more than I wanted to be there. Even talking to engineers and making more plans for my project hadn't helped speed the day along.

I pulled back into my parking spot and saw that Star's Focus was parked in the guest spot. I got out and headed in to find her and Cupid laying on the couch watching Firefly.

"Finally." She said in way of greeting when I walked in the door.

"I know the day seemed like it was never going to end." I told her.

"Oh, see I was right you are excited about this." She said.

"I am. I don't know how it will go with him and I didn't get a chance to call you and tell you that Rowan called me cute and stayed the night here." I blurted out.

"Wait. Repeat." Star said.

"Rowan was here and we were hanging out with another one of his friends Kerri. He called me cute." I responded, "There was a bad storm and the power went out and all this crazy stuff happened so he came and stayed."

"Crazy stuff?" Star asked.

I quickly filled her in on everything that had happened with the man from the mirror, Eve, and Rowan.

"I was wondering about Cupid's new tag." Star said when I finished.

"That's all you have to say about that?" I asked.

"What else am I supposed to say?" Star asked, "Clearly there's stuff going on. I told you it felt like I was grabbed and I still have the marks. I don't know what I believe with it but there's something."

"I forgot you ended up with marks too." I told her.

She pulled the ankle of her pants up to show that she did still have the marks there. They matched what I had on my neck and shoulder.

"I had that dream again." I said, "There were more details this time."

"Hmm, well let's start figuring out getting you ready and get our minds off creepy stuff." She said, "Unless you want to call it off in case there could be more with Rowan."

"I don't know how Rowan feels about me and just because I go with Darren doesn't mean things will work out with us." I said.

Star was laughing at me as she led the way to my bedroom where she had already pulled out the outfit, I had sent her a picture of.

"I want to put some curls in your hair." She told me.

I noticed she already had the curling iron out and she went over to plug it in. She gave me room to wash my face and get the days mascara and eyeliner off. Star already had my Makeup Revolution Spirituality Palette out.

"I see you already have an idea for more than just my hair." I told her nodding towards the makeup.

"Well yeah, I think so nice red colors since you are wearing black and white." Star told me.

"Sounds good." I told her.

We still had a few hours since Darren had told her to tell me seven pm would work for him. It gave us time to get me ready and not feel like we were rushing.

"He wants to know if you want him to pick you up or if you want to meet him there." Star said.

"Since him and I don't know each other I think meeting there would work best." I told her and she texted him.

He told her he was thinking the same thing, but wanted to make sure so he didn't look like he was just being a jerk having me drive there.

"Well let's get to work on you then." Star said.
