Adealia's POV

After Dumbledore's announcement about the tournament (which sounded like a death trap), I talked to Lucy who made me promise her I wouldn't enter. I taught her about the American pinky promise that my sister and I always did and she loved it. It was a binding contract.

I made friends with the girl on my left, who introduced herself excitedly as Hermione Granger. She and Lucy had a million questions about America and the culture. I laughed at their faces when they stared in awe as I told them about it and my family.

"So America, are you going to the party tonight?" the dark haired boy leaned over Lucy and asked me. His brown eyes were bright as they sat under his dark lashes. I involuntarily inhaled when I looked at them, my heart fluttered slightly.  "We always christen the first night of the school year in the Room of Requirement."

I looked at him confused, tilting my head slightly, a smirk playing on my lips.

"Did you just call me America?"  I scoffed.

"Apologies," he said as he smiled, trying to win me over.

His smile made me feel warm, like I was standing in a spotlight on stage. It felt like everything around me had a warm tone and my heart swelled slightly. I couldn't blow my composure, we seemed to be playing a tennis match of banter.

But I didn't intend to let him know that I thought he attractive, I refused to help grow his already inflated ego.

"Rude of me not to introduce myself first, I'm Romanos Copeland. Everyone calls me Ro. And yes I did just call you America." He smirked at his emphasis on the last word. His eyes felt like they were staring deep into me, flashing with charisma and charm. But I felt like he was putting on a persona somehow.

My stomach fluttered, but I wouldn't show it, my poker face was on. This boy would seemed too confident. I couldn't let him know that his ego was working on me. I was too proud for that. Besides, the last thing I was interested in at this school was finding a relationship

I didn't come halfway around the world for anything but to finally experience the wizarding world. I told myself.

But even I had to admit this boy was beautiful.

And he knew it.

"A little soon, for nicknames don't you think?" I countered, smirking back at him.

Hermione giggled behind me, seeming to enjoy me not fawning over the boy. At least... not fawning on the outside.

Ro shook his head. "I don't think its too soon, but you never answered my question... are you coming to the party tonight?" He leaned in closer, his eyes trying to search my face for an answer. His eyes growing more amused as they stared into mine with intensity.

I turned to Hermione. "Are you going?" I asked, smiling at her. Although she didn't seem like the type to enjoy a party.

I saw Hermione quickly glance over to the Ravenclaw table and lock eyes with a girl with long flowing platinum blonde hair and a pale complexion. She had strange glasses on her head that I thought were amazing. The girl smiled and waved as Hermione blushed and looked down.

Suddenly Ro laughed, in almost a scoff. "I don't think Hermione is the party-"

"I'm going!" she cut him off, as she almost yelled. She smoothed her skirt, obviously flustered.

Ro looked at her confused. I must have been right, this must be out of character for her.

Ro scoffed and seemed taken aback by her answer, he wasn't buying it. Lucy leaned into me and whispered,
