Adealia's POV

Lucy, Draco and I sat in the window sill next to the glass wall connected to the lake in the Slytherin common room.

Lucy had a look of frustration riddling over her and Draco seemed amused as I watched them absent-mindedly.

"Lucy, I promise it's not that hard. You're going to do well on this test. You just need to re-" Draco started

"I don't know how you're so good at this! And how Snape doesn't absolutely terrify you!" She exclaimed in anxiety nearly knocking her ink over.

I laughed softly to myself. Their relationship was absolutely heart warming. Lucy had the ability to soften even the hardest of creatures. Hagrid had taken note of this already. We spent a lot of time down at his hut so Lucy could see his creatures and learn how to care for them. Hagrid and Draco had always been on bad terms but they were warming up to each other slowly- but it was no secret that Hagrid enjoyed when Ro accompanied us more.

Suddenly a large eyeball on the other side of the glass caught my peripheral. It was the giant squid- we had named him Herman. He had taken quite a liking to Lucy and I. I played with him using little light spells and tickling charms while Draco tutored Lucy in potions a few times a week. Between Draco in potions, Ro in Defense Against the Dark Arts, me in Astronomy, Luna in Herbology, and Hermione in... well literally everything, Lucy was going to have the highest grades in her year.

"Herman!" Lucy yelled excitedly jumping up from her books. Her braided pigtails flew behind her as she ran to the window to say hello to the gentle giant. She quickly cast a charm that made a little orb of light float around him and he eagerly used his long tentacles to try and catch it. It was quite odd and quite adorable.

I watched Draco relax in his chair, thankful for the brief break in their studying. He had the sleeves of his white button down rolled up and he ran his fingers through his hair which had fallen in his face.

His grey-blue eyes caught mine and I watched his pupils expand as he studied me, smiling in the window watching Lucy play with Herman. His eyes had been so light lately that the blue was obvious now. The guilt I felt around him still lingered in me and I refused to date anyone seriously- him or Ro.

We sat there for a moment just taking one another in in awe, my body covering with a layer of goosebumps and my face flushing. But I did notice he looked... tired. I decided to give him a break from Lucy and take her to have dinner with the rest of the Gryffindor's + Luna.

"Lucy, come on. You've studied enough it's time to go meet Hermione and Luna for dinner," I said as I packed my bag. Draco got up and started handing me the rest of my books, his hand lingering on mine and eventually intertwining our fingers. He seemed so at ease lately, no longer the grey stormy waters that loomed below me but instead a gentle ocean inviting me to swim.

He kissed my forehead before we left and Lucy hugged him goodbye.

"Are you coming to Hagrid's later? I promise we won't be feeding Buckbeak this time!" She laughed.

"Come on Lucy, Draco has Quidditch practice later..." I said as I shot him a look of apology and started dragging her out and towards the Great Hall.

"Honestly Hermione I don't understand why you won't just come with me to the ball. It's this weekend and I know that no boy has asked you." Ron complained.

Hermione blushed and Luna sighed happily.

"No Ron no boy, has asked me. But Luna and I are going together..." she snapped back.
