The shift in Izuku and Adaliah's relationship was...notable.

Not necessarily something obvious, but something that could be caught if you watched carefully. Studied the interactions between them.  Knew of their regular actions and had something to contrast it with.

They certainly weren't obvious with it, not at all, but they still had giveaways. The dusting of pink on their cheeks after one of them laughed or offered a compliment; the adoration-- maybe something more for Midoriya-- shining in their eyes as they watched the other in action during hero training; had the upturn in their scents when the other was near.

Little, red flags like that had Denki withering in his seat.

People called him stupid all the time, it was practically a nickname, but he wasn't. He just didn't understand academics as good as everyone else. Sure, he was at the bottom of the barrel in the class grades (86% of an average didn't seem bad until compared to Bakugo, Todoroki or his angel) but he was people smart. He could see small changes in everyone's behavior. When someone was scared or sad, nervous, maybe even anxious? He could pick up when Kirishima wanted a small spar or when Iida just needed him to get the class off edge. He could pick this all up easily

He could also pick up all the adoration practically reeking off of the alphas in waves whenever his darling omega so much as breathed. Sure, he wasn't any better, but she was his. His to fawn and drool over. Not theirs. Not Bakugo's. Not Yaoyorozu's. Certainly. Not. MIDORIYA'S

Sparks flew from his fingertips as his emotions flared far brighter than he normally allowed himself to show.  It took a hot second for him to reel them back, but he did so, watching as Adaliah sent him a confused glance-- wordlessly asking him if he was okay. He gave her a thumbs up, continuing to watch as she smiled at him before turning her attention back to Aizawa.

Right. They were in the middle of a lesson about...Well, he didn't know what but he was certain he'd learn about it sooner or later.

Right?

Maybe his angel would help him out later.
