"Hey Boris?" I said as we walked home from school. "Look, I've been thinking, about your idea of running away. Maybe, it isn't too bad. I thought about what you said, and you're right. I feel trapped in this town. Maybe its time I take a risk. I'm turning 16 in a week. I've been looking after myself since I was 9, I'm sure we'll do fine in another city,"

Boris picked me up and spun me around. I giggled. "Now that's what I'm talking about" Boris said. "About that, I was cleaning the house and I found a stash of money in my dad's room. Its under a floorboard under his bed. I- umm..  I'm not sure how he got that much money, I don't really wanna know  and considering it was in a pretty difficult to find hiding spot, I'm sure its not anything good. We could take some of his money,"

"Oh, I'm sorry Boris. Are you sure its a good idea to take the money? What if he finds out?"

"Are you kidding me? He hasn't been home in a month and we'll be way gone before he comes back. I don't fucking care, he won't find out. Its fine"

I was a little hesitant and worried. If my dad found out I did something like that, he'd hurt me a lot. I was scared for Boris, I didn't want him to get hurt.

"Hey," Boris said, he could tell I was anxious. "Its all gonna be okay, trust me"

                                                            - At Boris' house -

"Woah that's a lot of money," I said.

"$8000. I know, I'm worried as to where he got it from, no wonder he hid it. Sucks for him though, cause we're gonna take it all,"

"Boris! We can't take it all, its too risky. I can't risk you getting hurt if he finds out,"

"(Y/N), we're leaving soon, he will not find out. Trust me, please"

"I trust you but-"

"There's no but (Y/N), you trust me or you don't"

"Fine, but I'm telling you this one last time before its too late, and please don't get mad because I'm saying this because I care about you, think about what you're about to do."

"I understand what you're trying to say and I'm sorry if I came across as mad but if we want to run away this is one of the many risks we're going to have to take. If we're not prepared to take these risks, than this idea is not going to work out,"

I nodded. "Okay, you're right I'm sorry,"

We both stuffed the money into my bag. "It's better off with you. Keep the money with you, hide it in your house,"

I nodded.

"There's a bus that's leaving next Tuesday to NYC at 7am. $250 per person, that's ok considering the money we just got. We can leave on that bus if you want,"

I was feeling a little overwhelmed. All this was happening so fast, I struggled to remember when I even agreed to this. Did I even want to leave?

"Boris, this is getting a little overwhelming, its all happening so quickly,"

"(Y/N), I'm sorry. I didn't mean for you to feel uncomfortable or the need to feel like you have to go. It's up to you, I'm sorry, I'm getting a little carried away aren't I?"

I sighed and sat down on the edge of the bed. I buried my head in my hands. No, I wanted to leave. I already made up my mind, I am leaving and starting fresh. I thought about my dad and it angered me. He is the reason I want to run away.

"No, It's ok. I want to do this. Let's go on that bus, to NYC,"

"Are you sure?"

"I am" I said confidently.
