Ruby's POV

After Clancy asked me to be his wife, our lives have been a flurry. It's as if LB waited exactly until we decided to try to plan the wedding, and then assigned us 10 cases in a row. I don't even know who my maid of honor will be, or at least I didn't. I just need to get her to agree, and to do, I need to get some time off so I can actually talk to people about something that isn't robbery or murder.

I knock on LB's office door, to drop off the last case, and hopefully get my request for Rome off granted. "Ruby, what are you doing here at this hour and not with your boyfriend Clancy?" LB asks, granting permission to enter.

"I'm just dropping off this case file, and it's fiancé, not boyfriend. That's why I need the time off, so that we can prepare for the wedding. We're hoping to have it in the fall, but the way it's looking, it might be next spring before we can figure everything out!" I complain, hoping to win the sympathy card.

"Why don't you just get the maid of honor to help you with the planning. She can help narrow down the choices of the colors and the location and all that stuff, and you two can choose from the choices that she gives you. It'll make things simpler." She suggests.

"About that LB, I don't really trust the person that I want to be the maid of honor with picking out the colors of the wedding. She might only pick red and white."

"Why would she do that?" LB asks, and I'm not all that sure if she's just being difficult or not getting my hints; I'm pretty sure it's the former.

"Well LB, the person that I want as my maid of honor has been in my life since I was 12 years old. She mentored me in a sense, and honestly I'm closer to her than my mother. She has protected me, jumped in front of bullets for me, forgiven me for the unforgivable, comforted me, saved me, and lectured me. Even though she's very irritating at times, I still want her to be my maid of honor, if she'll do it." I say, images of her doing all the actions going through my mind, and I get slightly emotional, tearing up.

I look up, and see LB looking slightly shocked and tearing up, like if I say one more thing she'll start crying.

"Ruby, this is the most important moment of your life, do you really want work to be involved in it, especially with me being your maid of honor. I'm not trying to talk you out of, just take this into consideration." She says, quietly, almost unsure of herself.

"LB, I know who I want to be my maid of honor. Please, help Clancy and I out by doing this." I practically beg.

"Alright. I guess I should start sorting through colors, since you already revoked ruby red and white, even though I still think it would look amazing." She jokes, and I smile, knowing that everything will be much easier from now on.

LB POV

As Redfort exits my office, I can't help but grin and shake my head.

What will her parents think about her plans for the wedding?

And the pairing for the maids and groomsmen, don't get me started. I'm not sure if she's going by people she's shipping, or just trying to irritate everyone. Most likely both, and she still won't tell me who I'm going to have to walk down with, though I swear if it's Froghorn, the only person that she's close to from here that's not in the wedding yet, I'll kill her.

I think of the wedding that Bradley and I planned; the wedding I never got to have. I will make this perfect for Ruby, no matter what I have to do.

Sorry if LB seems a little different in this one.
