Poem 9: Illusions

You cling onto that illusion

Hold it with all of your might

Let go of reality

Forget the fear and the fright

Let the iron walls go up

Holding you, trapping you in

And then you once again

Let that illusion begin.

You change it with your mind

You sew it into your soul

Let it inside your heart

Let it fill up that hole

There are no more safe breaths

Only the races for life

There are battles for air

This is warfare, this is strife.

But what do you do

When complexity fails?

When reality falls in

When your illusions fail?

The glass will shatter

The walls will fall

No illusions ever matter

They never mattered at all.
