Once Upon a Time The Thief

Ch. 12 "Game"

                                               Shadow POV 

"So what game will it be boys?" Peter said 

"Hide and Seek!"One boy shouted 

"Keep away!" Another shouted 

"Hmm, how about Hide and seek, What do you say Shadow?" Peter said as he leaned on arm on my shoulder 

I pushed it off, 

"I don't play games," I said as I was about to walk away Peter appeared in front of me with magic 

"Ah, Ah, Ah Shadow my rules remember and you also made a deal remember," He said 

"Yeah, I did but it didn't involve games," I said crossing my arms, 

"No but it did involve you acting like us lost boys and we lost boys enjoy games isn't that right boys," Peter said 

They all yelled 

"Besides you play you might actually have fun," Peter said 

"Fun distracts you from your goal," I said blankly 

"Oh Shadow you need to loosen up a little," Peter said 

I just rolled my eyes, 

"Just go with it no use arguing with the king," Felix whispered in my ear, 

I let out a sigh, and finally nodded

"Excellent now I'm going to count," Peter said 

As Peter started counting everyone took off running, 

"This is pointless," I mumbled 

"Just go with it Shadow, trust me," Felix said 

I nodded and ran so far and climbed a tree and jumped tree to tree, until I was far enough away, 

I climbed higher in the tree and finally leaned against the trunk, my ankles crossed and my arms folded, 

What is the point of this game? it doesn't strengthen anything, it doesn't help with any kind of training? what is the point of it, 

I looked out at the ocean, it was beautiful the moon reflecting on it, the Ocean so beautiful yet mysterious, 

                                      Peter POV 

So I have found everyone including Felix, but Shadow I can't seem to find anywhere, I see Felix smirking at my frustration, 

"Your the one who suggested this game," Felix said 

"Yeah, well she needs to learn what having fun is," I said 

He nodded, 

"I know that but she has her name for a reason," Felix said 

I nodded 

I closed my eyes, feeling for her then finally got her, 

Found you little fox I thought and teleported, 

She was at the edge of a branch looking out at the water, the ocean, 

                                            Shadow POV 

"Found you little fox," I heard near my ear, 

I gasped not expecting it and the branch broke I thought I was going to fall to my death until a branch caught my ankle and I'm now dangling upside down, 

Peter was now inches from my face, 

"Sorry love didn't mean to scare you," He said smirking 

"You didn't scare me, you just startled me," I said blankly 

"Keep telling yourself that Little Fox," He said 

He helped me down, 

We started walking back to camp, 

"You won," He said 

"What?" I asked confused 

"The game Fox you won," He said smiling 

"For someone who doesn't play games, your awfully good at it," He said 

"I just got lucky," I mumbled 

"I don't believe in luck, I believe in skill," He said 

Next thing I know I'm pinned to a tree, 

"There is more to you Shadow that you don't let people see, and I can't wait until you reveal it," He said 

"Well you'll be waiting a long time," I said 

"We'll see Fox, We'll see," He said smirking 

With that we both started walking back to camp in comfortable silence,
