It had been 10 days of not leaving the castle.
10 days of acting all proper.
10 days since he had seen Clay.

And if one more day passed, George was sure that he'd lose his mind.

Countless history lessons, telling him about the past that he already knew of.

Countless hours of having to see Alex.

If he had to participate in two more hours of etiquette training, he'd probably just run away himself.

George let out a sigh, throwing himself on the comforting mattress. It was so hard having to act all proper and posh. That wasn't him, that could never be him.

It was frustrating.

How could he only be himself around Clay but not his own family?

"Prince George."

A knock was heard. Probably from the new guard that had been given the role to protect him and keep him in his room. The new guard wasn't rude, thankfully. In fact, He was pretty nice and they both were around the same age.

George never got to know him personally, he knew that his name was Zachary, or was it just Zak? He didn't even know anymore. Besides his name all he knew was that Zak had left for training ever since he was young. He trained for years, his sworn duty to protect the kingdom he was raised in after the death of his parents. Poor guy..

Another knock came through, bringing George out of his thoughts.

"Yes?"

"Someone wishes to see you."

Although it was nearly impossible, considering his father saying he wouldn't see him, his mind immediately wondered, 'What if it's Clay?'

That thought alone made a tiny spark of hope flicker in his chest. He scrambled out of the bed, tripping over one of his fancy dress shoes while on his way to the door.

Please be Clay. Please be Clay.

It wasn't Clay.

"'Sup dude."

George let out a soft, disappointed, "oh.. Hey.."

He walked back into the room, the door closing behind the both of them.

"Ouch. Straight to the heart Gogy, Straight to the heart."

"No- Sapnap, I didn't mean it like that. I've just been .. busy."

"Busy preparing?"

"Preparing? What are you talking about?" George's face littered with confusion. The only thing he was supposed to be preparing was his escape but Sapnap didn't know that.

"I'm pretty sure you don't know about the news then, right?"

Sapnap looked at the mirror, his eyes following George, who was just sitting down on his bed, looking back at him as well. Something wasn't right. He expected George to be over the top beaming with happiness, instead he was slumped on his bed, with an obvious cloud of sadness looming over him.
