Now, don't get the girls wrong, they weren't exactly expecting their new acquaintances base to be extravagantly big and so well protected it'd practically be the set of Attack on Titan. But from the descriptions and the set up that the boys described, they also didn't expect the base to be nearly run down and slowly dying.

They were just expecting something.... sturdy. Stable. Something that could be described as home if a person stayed long enough.

The girls never expected the base to just be a school. But it was the most beautiful school they'd ever seen.

A strong, sturdy gate surrounded the area, caging in but also protecting everything inside the wall. The four looming, glass buildings still looked intact, even after all the destruction the world went through. The four glass buildings that hung above the ground, but was still connected to the main buildings, seemed to be the only thing that might be a bit unstable.

More buildings lined the outside, closer to the fence, and they looked to be more residential.

'The dormitories probably.' The two girls figured.

But what was most surprising, was the beautiful, luscious, healthy forest that surrounded the school and the dormitories. They looked healthy, and the two girls could even see some fruits growing from them.

So, all in all, they were astounded.

"How did you keep this place preserved for so long? It doesn't even look like the world outside of it crumbled away to ash." Questioned Emiko.

"That's because we've been trying to get back the society that we once had." Answered Kirishima from a small window that was connected to the boot.

"With a few changes, hopefully." Muttered Dabi.

Throwing Dabi a side glance, Nova asked, "So how long has this place been running?"

"Since the beginning." Bakugou answered, bored.

Hesitating, Emiko asked, "And how long has that been?"

Giving her a look, Bakugou replied, "About a year and a half by now." But then his curious look turned serious and he turned to face Emiko directly.

"Now I get to ask a question." He said. "Have you been on your own this whole time?"

The two girls immediately stiffened, it may have been slightly, but all three boys noticed.

The mood in the car suddenly shifted after noticing their slight panic at the mention of their past. And all because of a simple question.

Nova locked eyes with Emiko through the rear-view mirror. After a quick eye communication session, the girls came to an agreement.

"No." They said in unison.

"We were also with our friend, Ashtie. Remember?" Nova said.

Bakugou scowled at their answer and Kirishima and Dabi exchanged looks. All three boys thought the exact same thing.

'They're not telling us the whole truth. Which means they've got something to hide.'

But the rest of the conversation was put on hold when Dabi braked, stopping right in front of the gate entrance. Dabi leaned out the car window and spoke to someone who came up to the car with a clipboard in hand. A couple of minutes later, the group was driving through the gates and towards what the girls haven't had in a long time.

Safety.

"Ok so there are still a few things you should know. To actually get accepted into the place, you need to answer a few questions and go through inspecting. Everything will be explained when we get inside though, so don't worry." Explained Dabi.
