But I keep walking. And walking. and walking.

||SAME DAY||
I pass a coffee shop, hmm,

-NOW HIRING-

maybe I should get a job.. and move out.

I keep passing stores and my mind starts to run.

I wonder what happened to me and jesse. I thought we had something.. I mean I guess not. I miss him.. I miss him? Yes I miss him. Oh my fuck- I really miss him.

I pick up my phone and message him; hey jesse

Jesse: oh hey um, I'm really busy right now sorry.

Me: okay, I'll chat with you later I guess

Alright he's busy. Perfect..

4:56pm

I arrive at my house and head inside. I sit on the couch and start making an application for the coffee shop.

||2 weeks later||

Finally starting my first day here, I'm kind of excited honestly!

6:41am

I grab my jacket and open the door and start making my way to the coffee shop.

6:52am
I enter with a big smile on my face.

The shop isn't open yet so there isn't any customers.

7:00am
Store is open but there isn't anyone here yet. So far so good.

11:23am
People are piling in, faster than I can count.

I'm taking orders like crazy.. then finally finally my shift is over.

11:31am
I finish taking the last order then someone comes in a hurry.

"hey wait excuse me!" He says in a rush.

I turn around and see who it is.

But he just rummages through his wallet and continues to talk,
"My name is jesse Rutherford, I'm in the band the nbhd, I need two free lattes please." He finishes.

"Jesse.. Hey!!" I say with a smile.

"oh shi.. hey Kacia.." He says nervous.

"So you want lattes?" I say.

"Actually.. never mind.." He says extremely anxious and starts to run out.

"Jesse.. hey wait." I say at the cashier.

"Sorry Kacia.." He says back then walks into a girl.

"Jesse for fucks sake lets go. Did you get the lattes??" She says angrily.

Wait does she know jesse?

"Uhhh.. no. Heh. Ugh, um. Let's go," Jesse says grabbing her arm and forcing her out.

"You know what? I'll do it," she says as she hustles towards me.

Jesse runs out in a hurry.

"Hey. I'm sorry about that.. my boyfriend is kind of annoying sometimes.." She rolls her eyes.

My heart stops for a second.

"Your boyfriend? Jesse is your boyfriend?" I say confused and heart broken.

"Yeah.. you know him? Are you a fan?" She says.

"Yeah.. Just a fan." I say sadly.

"Okay I just want some lattes. 2 please, I'm in a hurry." She says quickly.

"got it.." I say with a fake smile.

I give the order to one of the workers.

I step out and sit down for a while.

I put my hands on my head and start thinking.

It was all a act. Jesse never liked me. It was a just a 'fan' thing. He never cared about me. I was just any other fan to him. I was never someone he actually wanted. No wonder he was busy, probably sucking face with her.. Ugh I'm so over it.

Someone comes over and sits down next to me.

"Hey.. Are you alright?" Says Jesses Girlfriend.

"What? Oh. Yes I'm okay." I put on a fake smile.

"Well, you can tell me, I actually got time to kill, so why not help out another sister right?" She says taking a slurp of her latte.

"Just.. Boy problems.." I say with a chuckle.

"Oh boy problems? I feel you! Like jesse, he's so just strange sometimes.. I was hanging out with a guy friend and yeah I was a little tipsy and kind of kissed the guy. And then jesse gets all Mr. Ego on me and I just got tired of it so I broke up with him. Then I find out the next day after we break up, he is out with a stupid little fucking girl at the Golden Gate Bridge.. See?! He's just so stupid sometimes.. I've never been to the golden gate.. it was a dream for me and him to go and just take pictures together as a couple. Of course he fucks that up and go outs with a stupid girl. Dumb bitch. Ugh, anyways that's my story. And my name is Raina by the way." she finishes.

"Oh wow" I say, in complete loss of words.

"Thanks for talking with me, I kind of have to get back to work." I say.

"Wait no you don't. Tell me your story. You know, you look really familiar." Raina says.

"Uh.. okay. So.. Well. I was at the Golden Gate Bridge a month ago, and I saw my friend and.. he was... I think he was trying to jump or something. And then. um. I convinced him to stay, and right before he jumped I grabbed his arm. And I thought we had a thing, because I was almost convinced he was into me because we knew each other. I mean I guess it was just a friend thing.." I smile.

I didn't want to lie so I didn't mention anyone, and she doesn't even know that jesse did that..hopefully

"Oh.. Wow that's upsetting. Jesse was there a month ago too. Did you manage to see him?" She says getting a little suspicious.

"Actually..-"

"Raina!! Hurry the fuck up, we gotta go," Jesse storms in staring at her and I talking.

"Oh shit," I hear jesse mumble.

"Oh, sorry.. Kacia." She says looking at my name tag.

Raina gets up and walks out with jesse.

And then I get back to work.
