22: Coffee, boss?

"Coffee?"

That was the first thing Amity said when she encountered her boss from outside her workplace.

Luz stared at her, blinking only once before turning around and taking a step forward Amity.

Amity felt a shiver behind her neck as she took a short step backward.

Luz hummed and continued to stare, squinting her eyes as she slowly leaned forward.

Amity leaned back, not understanding how she should react.

Soon enough, Luz stood back upright and smiled.

"I would love to, Miss. Blight." She said.

A meek laugh came from Amity's throat as she slapped her face over the embarrassment she just did to herself.

Luz chuckled in amusement before taking a step back for Amity to lead the way.

"H... Huh?" Amity muttered.

Luz raised a brow as she tucked a hand behind her back and said, "would you like to suggest a coffee shop or shall I suggest one instead?"

Amity was mentally panicking now.

"Oh! Well, if you--uhm... W... Would love to, boss! I'd like to try a coffee shop you go to!" She stammered.

Luz smiled, a little surprised as she nodded and led the way.

"Come along, Miss. Blight, I know a great shop." She said.

"R... Right!" Amity nodded as she hurried to her feet to follow beside Luz.

Luz tucked her hands behind her back after checking the time. Glancing ever so often around her before stopping at a crosswalk.

How funny it was that the traffic light turned green just as soon as she got to it.
