So I am kinda late but it was just Transgender awareness week so I thought I'd write something for all my trans people (I may be trans I don't know anymore lol life is weird. I'm only young I don't need to know who I am yet.)
Anyway so let's start at the basics. Someone who is transgender is someone who doesn't identify with their birth gender. This could be someone who was born a female but knows they are a boy, someone born a male who knows they are a girl or someone who is non binary. Some people believe that non binary people who say they are trans are just using the label for attention but the actually definition for transgender is not identifying with your birth gender so that stereotype is wrong.
When someone is trans, they experience something called dysphoria. This means that you feel like you are trapped with a body you don't like; you can have dysphoria in many ways such as voice dysphoria where you don't feel like your voice fits who you want to be. I'm not the best at describing this so if anyone could help me in the comments so this makes more sense then I'd be heavily grateful. Something I do know is that dysphoria doesn't make you hate your body; it obviously makes them uncomfortable with what they have but it is very different to dysmorphia (I think that is the right word) where you hate your body and aren't happy with how you look. Being dysphoric is more of a feeling of knowing something isn't right and you feel like it needs to change. I hope that makes sense. I know from a personal view that my chest makes me dyphoric and I'm planning on getting surgery when I'm older because I know it isn't me. Yes I know I don't know my gender but I know I don't want boobs sooooo lol.
Trans people, to me, get the most hate/have a lot of stigma in the community and they don't deserve it. There is some people like child predators who use being trans to get to little girls and people like that are what the media see of the community but trans people are just normal people. I just wish the media wasn't so harsh on trans people because the community doesn't deserve that at all. Personally, I want to try and fight for trans rights because I know from personal experiences of how these people get treated. I tried to come out as non binary and the amount of shame that was put on me made me regret ever believing that I could be free to be me- if you ever feel trapped I'm here okay? I accept you all I promise. I'll adopt all my babies haha even though some of you are probably older than me.
I think being aware of what transgender people go through will help because you never know if you're best friend will be trans and is afraid to talk about it or maybe even your soulmate is trans and you haven't met them yet; being educated on that will help. And if you are trans yourself, maybe it could help if we started talking about it more so people can understand what people have to go through sometimes you know. People will never be able to feel the same pain that trans people go through with being trans emotionally and physically but accepting and understanding even if you have never felt it is better than anything. So let's all stand together for trans people because they are just one type of person who deserves to be accepted; to me, all people are equal and deserve love.
Sorry I rambled a bit haha but I hope my point got across. I'll be trying to write more so if you have anything you'd like my opinion on or anything then just say I love writing. I'm planning on doing some mini rants on here if I have had been in a situation that has annoyed me or just issues I see online. Soooo thanks hehe. Please share this because I'm struggling to get many people on my page. I also have many other books you can check out! Peace out lovelies
